By the time we have another, outstanding DLV in 2013, the name of the Imperial Palace will be changed to The Quad Hotel and Casino The changes are expected to be complete by Dec. 21, 2012. This was announced by Caesar's Entertainment this morning.

I hope the prices for rooms remain the same. It appears the online
room reservations continue past May of next year.

For collectors of stuff from gone casinos, add IP to the list. Some I
know collect a $1 chip with the casino name on it (ie: Sands, Dunes,
Landmark, Sahara, Aladdin, Moulin Rouge, El Rancho). Some I know have
collected the older logos on the chip (MGM, TI).

This adds up... wasting $1 at a time. They tell me its the cheapest way
than buying a shot glass, or dice, or pin, or deck of cards and easily
displayed in a velvet glass shadow case or picture frame. Once they
clean the chip, it actually looks good and uniformed in their display.
Some chips are actual part of a series stamped on the chip. I guess its
like a coin collection.

Some tie the chip to something special happening to them at that casino.
Most just use them on the table games and cash it in.

I am going to miss the Imperial - cheesy celebrity look-alikes and inexpensive deluxe rooms with mirrored ceilings and giant bath tubs. If they raise their prices, who knows where the DLV girls will flock to next?

ps. I don't think anyone would collect my cheap paper money printouts from the Imperial slot machines.

Word on the street is that The Quad will **NOT** be following the trend of up-up-upscale, and their room rates are not expected to soar. They apparently plan to market the property to the low-mid roller and emphasize the "party" theme.

Word is that the DealerTainers will be retained, as well as the Frank Marino Divas show and most of the dining venues. This includes Densie's absolute favorite, the IP Buffet! :)

There doesn't seem to be much of a market for casino TITO tickets, as there is for chips, cards, dice, etc., even for casinos that are long gone. LOL, I see somebody is trying to sell an unprinted pack of TITO paper from the Sahara on Ebay. :)
