Rita--

Sorry to hear that you have to "start over" but on the good side it is a
chance to update everything.

I have found Newport News at 1-800-688-2830 or www.newport-news.com
to be great and reasonable prices.

Happy Shopping.. JoAnn

Need some help with catologs

I need some help with the names of catologs. I was recently burned out
in the San Diego fires and lost everything. I am doing fine and just
need some information. I stopped taking all the catologs like Chadwicks
and others for womens clothings and things a year or so ago. Since
everything burned I need to start over again. If some of you would post
the most common catalogs I am sure it will jog my memory of who I used
to buy from. A catolog for wigs would also be helpful. I did not like
mine anyway.

Thank you,
Rita

For wigs I suggest you phone either Susan or Lori at Vegas Girl Wigs.

(Don't worry, they don't bite, you will be nothing new to them, they
invite t-business.)

702-457-3268. Tell them Annie from Diva Las Vegas sent you if you like.

They will ship anywhere and will beat almost any price you can get
elsewhere. They'll have a far better selection than any of the mail
order catalogs.

Rita,

Try these links:

Dillard's <http://www.dillards.com>

Statuesque <http://www.statuesque.com>

Dress Barn has no catalog but their Web site will help you find stores
and they have great merchandise at reasonable prices. Most stores are
cool with you trying things on in the store if you have enough
confidence to confide in them.

Take Annie's advice on wigs as there are some real rip-offs out there.

If possible ask around and find a safe local source with reasonable
prices and where you can try them on before you buy-- some stores have a
back room for example if you don't feel confident enough to do it in the
open.

Hi,

www.wigs.com has a good selection and I've bought from them in the past
without any problems. If nothing else you get to see what's available
from their reasonably extensive on-line catalogue.

And I am sorry to hear about you being burnt out by the fires.

Hugs
Michelle

I looked at the shoe catalog. They had some neat stuff, including one
called "Annie" that looks like an aviator boot.

The only problem is, I wouldn't want to buy a shoe without trying it on.

I've found that, like clothing sizes, shoe sizes can vary by the line.

And then there are some people who will put on a pair of agonizing shoes
as long as it matches their dresses, and I want to make sure I'm not
buying shoes that were meant for them.

I haven't forgotten the softball-sized ankles that I got from walking
the strip at DLV (was it 2000?) in those new sandals.

LOL :)

I agree here. A liberal return policy makes it better, but still. ...

A lot of our people are quite shy about shopping in real life, but the
bottom line is that the shops are in business to make money and ours is
just as green as anybody else's is.

When you enter a shop, 99.99% of the salespeople will want to see two
things happen. 1, you find something you like so you will buy it, and 2,
you will be satisfied so you will come back, buy more, and you will
recommend them to others.

If you're a bit uneasy with attentive salespeople, places like Payless
and Famous Footwear, as well as Target/WallyWorld/Kmart/Shopko will be
sure to have salespeople who ignore you. :)

That was 2001. Margeth had a similar problem in 2000, blisters from
those cute new sandals. :)

How about Glamour Boutique ???? You can shop on-line or visit their
stores... I heard they are very easy to get along with and offer a
variety of items. Has anyone had similiar experiences with them? How
do they rate?

And THEN, (according to an article in USA Today) there are women who are
having parts of toes amputated in order to fit into trendy shoe styles.
OUCH!
