What is the Beginner Open House?

Beginner Open House:

Between now and the big event, we'll be posting some articles
which feature some of the activities we've planned for DLV.

This time we're featuring the Beginner Open House, which will
happen on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of DLV week.

We will be doing the Beginner Open House quite differently than
in years prior.

We want to provide an informal and comfortable atmosphere where all,
particularly those who are new to DLV or new to public exposure, can
get acquainted and "ease in" to things in a very congenial and
supportive environment.

We'll introduce ourselves, get to know each other, chat about any
concerns or questions, anticipate the things to come, and enjoy
the company and the occasion. Even though you may not know anyone
else when you arrive, you will be among friends!

Even though this is aimed mainly at newcomers and beginners, it's
open to all, and some of the senior volunteers are planning to
attend and personally welcome those who are new.

The location for the Beginner Open House will be the main lounge
area at the Artisan, one of our suggested hotels. This venue was
selected for this because it's very classy and very comfortable
for those who may be new to going out in public.

Cocktails and appetizers will be available.

No sign-up, just show up, for the Beginner Open House. All Diva
Las Vegas attendees are welcome!

As to dress for the Beginner Open House, wear what you are
comfortable wearing, boymode or girlmode, casual to very
dressy. No clubwear or slutty/fetish outfits please. This is
a very classy place! :)

This will happen three times during the first part of DLV week:

Sunday, 5:00pm
Monday, 4:00pm
Tuesday, 5:00pm

Jane, Cynthia, Katie, and Annie, among others, will be participating
in the organization of the Beginner Open House sessions.

On Sunday and Tuesday, this will be immediately followed by our
Beginner Happy Hour and Beginner Dinner in the Mood Restaurant
at the Artisan.

A "Beginner Dinner" has been requested in feedback over the past
few years and this year we will make this happen.

Those who are new to going out in public frequently report that
they are uneasy dining out, ordering from the menu, etc. We've
selected the Mood Restaurant because it's one of the most welcoming
and comfortable places for a beginner to dine. This is just a few
steps from the Beginner Open House.

Again, even though this is primarily aimed at beginners, this
is open to all DLV attendees, old and new!

Sign-up is requested for the Dinner, but if you're not signed
up, you'll still be welcome to dine with us, space permitting.

On Monday, we'll carpool and/or taxi-pool to the Welcome
Celebration downtown.

Also on Monday, we'll have an informal Art Tour at the Artisan
just prior to the Beginner Open House. All are welcome.

Depends on where you are staying.

If you need a ride to one of the early DLV activities, post a note here saying where you're staying, what you're going to, and when you need the ride. Our people have historically been very good about answering things like this.
