Bad news. Torn rotator cuff--second time. Must cancel all plans for at
least three months. Can't drive. My brother picking me up today. Will
see specialist in reno tomorrow or tuesday. No doubt this will require
surgery and a long convalescence.Last time it took over threemonths.
Will stay with brother as long as they can put up with me. I'll be out
of contact until then. Will get in touch when I come home. Hope to be
able to go to LV in april. It could be worse.

Merry Christmas,

Farrosong

You have my deepest sympathy for your recovery. I had two full tears and
other damage to my right shoulder repaired last year and it was a good
six to seven months before I was able to begin to resume normal
activities. Even now I feel the need to be careful lifting heavy things.

They say this is one of the most difficult surgeries and I believe it!

However, for me the surgery and following therapy was well worth the
effort because I am now pain free after years of pain and limited
mobility.

So sorry to hear about the tear, I've had arthroscopy on my right knee
and now have arthritis in my left one, so have some idea of how bad it
can be. Do hope you will be up and about and here in LV by April. As
soon as you can walk again immediately go shoe shopping and buy the
sexiest pair you can walk in; it's the best physical therapy there is.

Sorry to hear about your rotator cuff. I can offer a bit of hope though.
I had multiple tears in the muscle groups that make up the rotator cuff,
in addtion to a ruptured bicep tendon, sub-acromial bone spurs, and many
years of wear and tear on the glenoid. The doctor spent 3 hours
repairing all the tears, shaving down the bone spurs, repairing the
ruptured tendon and removing the glenoid wear and tear. All the surgery
was done arthroscopically, so there was no open incision. I had to spend
6 week in an abduction sling though. The surgery was midyear, and in
November I was rock scrambling without restrictions. If your insurance
will pay for a surgeon in Las Vegas, let me know and I will email you
the name of the doctor who fixed my shoulder to 99.999% recovery. Let me
know.
