Acceptance is nat as hard as you think.

I have found from personal experience that this is very much the case. I
am very open about my situation and am very well received. I travel
extensively for work and when I fly commercial, I do it enFemme. I have
had many conversation on planes and in airports with others who are
business owners and military personnel and policeman and fireman. The
reception has always been a positive one.

What seems to be a consistent theme is that people are more upset by
being deceived than by anything that I might chose to wear. It is the
same thing that upsets us about politicians, they seem to be
constantly trying to deceive us into thinking they are something they
are not.

I have friends and family and associates that run the gambit as far as
political leanings and apathy go. Over the years I have lost some
friends due to their not being able to reconcile their feelings about
my dressing but right down to the last person in that list of lost
friends, it was their concern over what other people would think that
caused them the most concern.

Don't LIE. Just because they are friends with you and do not know you
crossdress does not mean they are NOT friends with a crossdresser. It
only means that you have deceived them, so far, into thinking that you
are something you are not. When they find out, you have two issues
then, you lied to them and you wear a dress. Lying is the bigger
problem.

Wearing a dress is not something a person needs permission to do. Not
from friends and certainly not from strangers. Neither do we need
approval.

If the original posting was true, then why was it done anonymously?

The lack of the user name is an issue in translation between the Yahoo side and the Geekbabe side. The gatewaying utility will use the e-mail address (in this case dlvdisc) in the event the "real life name" field is blank.
