During DLV '04, is anyone interested in visiting any of the art museums
or gallaries that can be found in Las Vegas? Although I heard the
Guggenheim at the Venitian is occasionally closing it's doors for
extended periods between shows, there should be a few excellent options
along these lines. I'm planning on a trip to LV in early October and
will see what opportunities exist if there is any interest beyond mine.

Sarah--A museum tour---GREAT---but not several the same day---and with
lunch would be a lot of fun !!! They do not have to all be art--i.e.,
Liberace Museum would be unique.

HI Sarah:

The art tour does sound interesting. If you wish to meet with a few of
when you are here in October please let me know. We meet every Monday
night and you are more than welcome to join us. Our little group is

Yes, I would. I tried at DLV '03 to find time to see the Venetian but never
made it.

F.Y.I. - Las Vegas also has the Steve Wynn Collection at Le Reve, The
Arts Factory, The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, The Las Vegas Art
Museum at the Library on Sahara... there's even more but their smaller
galleries... Most of these galleries change out their exhibits every 6
months or so. Currently The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum is hosting
"American Pop Icons" and the Bellagio has an Andy Warhol exhibit.
Hope this helps...

Wonderful idea...just don't do too many museums in one day. JoAnn

All,

Prior to DLV'01, we discussed the Liberace Museum as a possible daytime
activity, but alas they were renovating the museum. I noticed, while at
Goodtimes at DLV'03, the museum seems to be renovated and looks great
from the outside. I would like to suggest that this is an option we
pencil in for DLV'04.

Comments?

Sarah,

I would love to go to some museums or art gallaries, but I can't see how
I can fit them in! I had the Liberace museum on my list of places to go,
but the schedule for me was just so intense, I never got to go!

I never even had a chance to gamble at Diva 03. I think I put like $3.75
in a slot machine while waiting for some one to come down the elevator!
I loved it!

Hugs,
Tootsye

Gasp! It sounds like I've become a volunteer, at least for the time
being. I was thinking of going to a "high-brow" art museum early, doing
lunch and then maybe something a little more relaxed and fun, like
Liberace, later. I don't have a preferred day, but it's a little early
for that, isn't it?

I'll do my research over the next couple of months and then in October,
maybe with the help of some of the local girls (Nora, anyone else in
L.V., are you willing?) pay a site visit.

I can report back to the group when I have something a little more
solid. If there are specific questions I need to ask please let me
know. I've never done this sort of thing before and I'd hate to have it
turn out less than Diva quality because of my lack of experince.

Thanks for your interest.
