DLV 2011 Dates

My choices in order of preference are:

d. Monday, April 25 thru Saturday, April 30
c. Sunday, April 3 thru Friday, April 8
e. Monday, May 9 thru Saturday, May 14th

The week of April 18 (Spring break for me) would have been my first
choice, but it is not one of the choice. Darn.

That week is Holy Week and Passover, and was not even considered
due to countless family and religious conflicts.

It depends on the school. Here's an item I posted to ORG in
regards to Spring Break ...

Depending on the institution, Spring Break can be any time from
late February thru Holy Week/Passover. Going over my notes for
the initial "vetting" of the candidate dates, the week of March
27 - April 2 is the third most popular week for Spring Break in
2011 and the Week of April 3 - April 9 is the second most popular
week for Spring Break.

It's been discussed as a minor issue, mostly from concerns of
crowds of drunken fratboy types. In recent years, Spring Break
has not had any meaningful influence on room rates in LV.

Las Vegas is not on Trip Advisor's top ten list of hot Spring
Break destinations.

The ORG group is scheduled to vote on this in mid October,
which is actually about 2 weeks away. Assuming we get a
majority in the first round of voting, the dates will be
announced in late October. If we need a second round of
voting to get a majority, it may be early November.

I am a new-comer. My first time attending was 2010 and I really enjoyed
the event. For what it is worth, my vote is for this time-option --

"Monday, April 25 thru Saturday April 30 [Easter Sunday - April 24th]"

The reason I am hoping for this week is that it is the only one of the
possibilities I can attend. I realize I am just one voice but I really
would love to attend again. Thank you.
