Not true. Club Bingo was the name of the casino where Palace Station is
now.

IIRC, the former name of Palace Station was Bingo Palace, with
the name change to Palace Station occurring in the late 1970s
or early 1980s.

I'm sure that there may have been a Club Bingo on the site of
the Sahara (I don't know for sure, I wasn't around back then)
but it's my understanding that the Sahara was fresh from the
ground up, and not a renaming of a former property.

IMAO, to say that Club Bingo "became" the Sahara is kind of
like saying that Castaways "became" the Mirage. :)

>> Where was the Holiday Casino/Showboat Casino located?

Another piece of Showboat/Castaways trivia, It's location made it an easy
to spot from the air landmark and the eastern approach corridor to the north
las vegas airport is marked on the sectional charts as the Showboat or
Castaways approach. This is the easiest way for a small airplane to get to
the North Las Vegas airport between MCarran International and Nellis AFB.

The route started over lake Meade and you flew right over the Showboat
and then straight at the Stratusphere tower, about half a mile from the Strat
you would make about a 40 degree right turn and you'd be on final for NLV.

Gina, Densie and I know this one. or we should if we read the charts. LOL

Tony, Densie's better half.
a.k.a the token striaght guy.

BTW Densie is now an 18 wheeler pilot too.

According to the Las Vegas Advisor:

"Club Bingo is not to be confused with the Bingo Palace, which opened in
1976;that name was changed to Palace Stationin 1984."
