Further Thoughts about the DelMar

In all seriousness, sometimes you just gotta say "what the f*ck." :) :)

I can imagine a scenario going something like this. ...

1. Somebody quite innocently goes to the Delmar and gets a room for
2-3 hours, pays cash.

2. 8 or so limos pull in, 48 or so people pile out and into the room,
and I hand That Damn Camera<tm> to one of the drivers. He (she) takes
photos.

3. Manager has a total cow, kicks everybody out. We already have the
pics and we have a great story to add to the canonical list of
DLVlore. :) :) :)

We need to remember to take pics of the manager shaking his fist at
us as we drive off.

Hey, they don't have to clean the sheets, as if they would anyway. :)

Oh well ... :)

Further Thoughts about the DelMar:

While I think 48 of us crowding into a single motel room at the DelMar
would be unique and fun, I also after hitting the SEND MAIL button in
my earlier response, I thought about...the legal issues....

Motels have occupancy limits (4 at most per room?) and there are local
fire codes etc to consider.

Upon 2nd thought, while I think this would be fun (how many
transgendered sisters can we put in a 1960's vintage VWBug or the old
style phone booths), I now, in afterthought, retract my previous
comments...for all of our safety.

To bad the DelMar doesn't have a seedy ballroom....now that would be fun
:)

Renting a room sounds like alot of fun to do!!

I also kinda wonder .... along with what Monique said about .... legal
issues of renting a room.

After at least 2 years of having limos roll into into its parking lot (1
limo 2 years ago, and 5 limos last year - and maybe 5+ this year) around
the same time the last two years, could their management be bright
enough to expect us this year?

The first year, no problems, the management was scared of the limo and
closed their offices and turned off the office and neon sign lights.

I remember after stopping at the Del Mar last year, one of the limo
drivers had reported a police car following the last limo and it was
discussed over our two-way radios. We almost cancelled the rest of the
limo ride, but the cop car didn't follow the limos for very long, and we
finished the ride w/o any police involvement. We had fun at the 4
Queens, and I didn't hear of any reports of any problems while we were
at the 4 Queens. Nor at the MGM where the ride started and ended.

It was never determined if the cops were indeed following us, or by
coincidence sharing the same road with us.

Funny that none of the DelMar staff have ever taken the time to come out
to talk to us while we were there .... probably too scared or shocked
and wondering what to do.

Not that DelMar would, or if there is any, but ... could there be legal
issues that can give cause the police to 'take us all in' (ie trepassing
and illegal photo taking without approval ... or something like that)?

I'm sure it was coincidence, or else (at least) one of the limos would
have been stopped.

IIRC, one of the limo drivers did inform the office there what was going
on, and eventually the manager said to the effect of "enough is enough"
and asked the group to leave. I remember something being said to the
effect of driving away business. :)

IANAL, nor do I play one on line, but I do know that in Nevada, use of
almost all private property is "at will" of owner/manager, and it's
relatively easy in Nevada to exclude or refuse service to anybody.

Managers of such fornicatoria do not want anything visible that might
drive off customers, and a group of ~50 people is just such a scene,
since much of the business of the hourly rat-holes is spur of the moment
and there are countless other dives in the area.

Taking a trip to the real world, I'm sure that the worst that would
happen is that we would get asked to leave. The issue of trespass is
very seldom pushed if the perp leaves the property when first asked to
do so.

Now disorderly conduct is a different issue. :)

Ahhh...fond memories of the Del-Mar...probably not as fond as Annie's
memories, though...

I doubt it, if for no other reason that we're coming earlier this time.
Guess we could call and let them know we're coming, but that would spoil
the surprise.

Don't think that was the manager. It was probably a clerk, smoking dope
behind the window and getting paranoid.

The manager did actually come out last year. He told us we had to leave
because we were scaring his customers away.

Not sure about the county or state laws there, but the place is open to
the pubic, Oh, goodness, I made a typo there, but it's funny so I'm
gonna leave it in. Anyway, if it's open to the public, I would think
that we were only trespassing if we didn't leave when asked to.

Maybe Annie can ask her lawyer and draw on her own extensive experience
with the Del-Mar to get us an answer.
