Ok, here's the story, there are two considerations, and I'm
sorry if this is not what you want to hear.
We're not going to be offering mail-in payment for the Limo Tour.
Why? Historically, this type of payment is a very high-maintenance
function with a very poor follow-through rate and a significant
amount of "yes I sent it!" "no, I haven't received it!" back and
forth. We (the Limo volunteers) have a lot of fish to fry and
unfortunately we are going to have to set some limits.
Another consideration. It appears that the Limo Tour will be
absolutely full with a significant waiting list. As of now, we
have enough for 8 full limos (the ABSOLUTE most we can handle)
and a growing waiting list. If you're not signed up for it yet,
there's a chance you may not get to go even if you sent in the
payment and it was received in time.
Now, the good news! You're not dead in the water. There are a
few options for you.
First of all, if you have not signed up for the Limo Tour, do
so ASAP and get on that waiting list!
If you find somebody who is willing to make payment for you in
person on time, you're in, assuming you either have a confirmed
spot or have moved up on the waiting list. If you absolutely
don't know anyone who will be there on time, you can make an
appeal here on the forum for a kind soul to be a go-between
and make payment for you.
One last option. If you're not paid and the Limo Tour is totally
full, be at the Limo Tour departure point ready to board. If
there's a last-minute no-show for any reason with no means of
contact, it's FCFS for that open seat. Yes, this has happened a
number of times in the past.
Please understand that we've had significant difficulty
collecting for the Limo Tour in the past. This year we are
going to have to be very assertive in collecting, and we
have agreed that we need to have the cash in hand, in person,
no exceptions, in order to make the Limo Tour work.
