I think we shouldn't put this on the DLV calandar as yet,
we are jumping to some assumed conclusions and need more
information.
Sabrina is a HOG member, she can correct me if I'm
wrong.
First, I'm not sure this bike rally is open
to the public. Sabrina wrote:
>"The State rally is a sanctioned, member event,
>requiring registration."
This rally may be or may not be open to the public, or maybe as
invited guests of registered members. But Sabrina didn't say so.
She did say:
>"If anyone wants to go and see the bikes and events, I would go as
>your natural self, i.e. How you feel comfortable as what ever normal
>is for you... "
So I'm not sure if to "go and see" means you have to be a member and
register to attend this event, or if its open to the public, or be a
outside observer in Boulder City just watching the bikers.
Its also held at nearby Boulder City. Sabrina talked aboutthe bikers
going to nearby LV only. Sabrina writes:
>"So if you like Bikes or Bikers, we should see a lot during Diva's!
>The official location is Boulder City, but you can bet the strip will
>be roaring!
I think Sabrina thinking was of the possibility of hanging out and
having fun with some bikers that come into LV from Boulder to have fun,
and not necessarily going to the rally. Sabrina also gave some good
points:
>"My recommendation is its probably better not to show up dressed,
>I certainly don't." "In general bikers are independent, freedom
>loving, and can be quite loose and wild. " "... there are some
>self made want to be Hollywood "Bad" Bikers assholes"
Sabrina talks about tg bikers:
>"There is a fare amount of "gay" bikers as well as "Dikes on
>Bikes". But those groups are once again somewhat a specialty
>item."
I take this as not as numerous or not the norm as most of the
members, and these may go to the gay/lesbian/tg bars in LV.
AJ writes about hearing from a MC member:
>"Paul Teutel Jr of Orange County Choppers came to town. I attended
>his presentation at the Central Christian Church. I had a very
>good time"
Hearing a MC member at a church isn't the same representation as
attending a Bike Rally that can have hundreds of bikers from different
backgrounds and probably may not include those that attend or don't
attend christian churches, nor behave at this rally like those going to
church.
There may be dike and gay bikers that may be bi or accept tg guests,
but may also be possible to be the opposite and just don't like tg or
MtoF people. We don't know nor predict any biker behavior, most of us
may not be bikers or members of a MC. There was once a issue about gay
and lesbians looking down on the tg/cd community that I heard about
some time ago... not sure if its still current, so even these bikers
may not be so open.
AJ writes about going dressed, but Sabrina doesn't recommend this.
Consider that Sabrina isn't going dressed, and shes a member, and will
be wearing her HOG colors.
AJ writes:
>"Instead of being afraid, this may be a wonderful opportunity to
>experience a different event as our true selves".
I would be more cautious and aware, not afraid, and if anyone goes,
consider the possibility that one can also get killed, or physically
hurt by some these bikers too. All it takes is one bad incident.
