What happened to the people page?

At one time there was a people page for those who want to be on it,
but apparently it's not there anymore and as I remember had become
pretty stale last time I saw it

It was removed some time ago, reasons were that it was very
high maintenance and did not get that many hits.

If you (or anybody else) wants to volunteer to maintain it, it
can be resurrected.
