>So then, what's the rule for bathrooms then? Thanks.
I see Michelle jumped in as I was composing this response. I'll cut
part of mine out since Michelle answered a lot.

No rule. Just guidelines. Each person is responsible for deciding what
public facilities he or she will use, if any, and each person accepts
the responsibilities for those decisions. Restroom guidelines are sent
to those who register. They appear on the web at:

Yes, Michelle, the guidelines are on line. That's the link above.
There's no one-size-fits-all solution to the question of which restroom
to use, if any. I can give you a lot of suggestions, but the only
general answer I can give is "it depends", and others will have opinions
that greatly differ from mine.
In the "safe" venues, such as those we use for our Welcome Celebration,
Annual Mixer, etc., you are most likely very safe using the restroom
that you are more comfortable using.
It's the mainstream venues where problems seem to occur, but in almost
every case I'm aware of regarding incidents, somebody was misbehaving or
pushing the limits.
If you make a serious attempt to blend, go only if/when you really need
to, quickly and quietly get in, do your thing, and get out, chances are
that you will be fine.
It's when people do such things as go in groups, stand to weewee, talk
unnecessarily, play makeup, linger and loiter, etc., that problems seem
to happen.
I would suggest to not even THINK of using a mens room when in girlmode
at a mainstream venue. That is asking for an incident.
Oh, and I take back part of what I said about "no rules", in that one
"rule" we're going to be taking very seriously this year is not using a
public mainstream ladies room in groups. This has to stop! This is an
incident just waiting to happen.
