I will be there on Saturday and being my first time ever to Vegas I will sit quietly and let people in the know decide.

I was thinking in regards to the pre activity, that maybe low attendance is due to people arriving on Sat. and not having enough time to get ready, and also menu costs, although there was a huge turnout at Las Palmas several years back and they had low prices for drinks and food, but it was still on Saturday, go figure.

We have been to Bar & Bistro at night with Marisa and Laura and they had a great area outside area to sit, and lots of parking. A lot of cultural artsy type people usually hang out there. Prices are mid range on drinks and mid range on food. Not sure about a happy hour.

If you walk anywhere in Las Vegas at night, other than a casino, ie. PT'S, Pamplemousse, Escape, Spotlight, etc, it can be seedy.

I'm also thinking of newbies, but it is impossible to make 5 people agree on anything let alone 180.
(just my opinion)

Have we decided on anything?
Without wheels, I will be hanging around the strip.
Would like to sit on the patio at Paris, Serendipity, or elsewhere.
Could also have people over to the time share.
I am at samantha.markson13@gmail.com

Regards.

Samantha,

I don't know that there has been a decision. I offered to potential
places for dinner, and if any have an interest, I look into a
reservation. As it is a Saturday, we may have to be flexible on the
reservation time. I'm generally amenable to dinner elsewhere, should
there be no interest in Nove Italiano or Alize. I did plan on going to
dinner somewhere, hopefully between 6 and 8PM.

Samantha,

Just as an aside, I would expect central Strip traffic to be quite
heavy that night, as the NCAA Tournament will still be ongoing.

If that were the case, we would have seen the same level of (low) turnout consistently throughout the years, and not a sharp drop-off in 2011.

There have been a couple of high end places suggested, but I think the turnout will be better at a place that is moderate to medium in price.

If I remember the Arts Factory, there is a parking lot to the rear of the building which should be quite safe. In particular, during the time this would be going on, there shouldn't be any fear factor at all in the immediate vicinity of the Arts Factory.

Annie,

I'll likely show up where the consensus is. For what it may be worth, I
wouldn't mind trying the Hofbrau House, or the Blue Ox, depending on if
it conflicts with Tuesday for anyone joining on Saturday.

The area by the Arts Factory has become very popular and remodeled over the last 3-4 years.First Fridays and preview Thursdays attract familys and people of all ages.Traffic and finding a parking spot on first Fridays(4/4/14) is a problem.Artists have 1,000's of dollars worth of artwork there also. The artwork at sincitygallery.com and Brettwesleygallery.com(3/29 is the last day for "Nicky Watts in a box" at the gallery and then she'll be on a tour in India and Asia) are a fun must see. They're open till 7 or 8 on Saturdays. The Bar+Bistro suggests a reservation call the day before. Can we make this a activity highlight and announce it before the final mailing if we decide on this for pre-DLV?The low attendance for the pre could be the result of the late notice these last years.

As a clarification, IIAC, it's the Arts Factory proper that closes that time. The bar and bistro remain open.

If we can make a decision before Saturday morning, we can get a big announcement out in the final general mailing that goes out to the Teeming Millions.

Are you officially proposing the Bistro at the Arts Factory for this?
