July-August update:

The big news this month is that our dates for DLV 2004 are tentatively
set. See item below.

There's been quite a bit of activity on the DLV Discussion Forum at
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2004/dlvdisc so please feel free to drop
in and join in the conversation.

Plans continue for DLV 2004. Although it's still 9 months out, we're
already doing some preliminary activity planning. Plans include such
favorites such as another Garden Party, Limo Tours, Air Tours, trip to
view art exhibits, and even a plan to bring back Rocky Horror Picture
Show to DLV.

DLV 2004 dates proposed:

Our ORG group has just voted to propose the timeframe of Monday, May 3
thru Saturday, May 8 for Diva Las Vegas 2004.

This vote was a clear majority.

These dates are now tentative, and are marked as such on the web site.

A one-month call for comments period is now open, after which the dates
will be final if there's no significant number of objections.

Other timeframes that were considered were May 17-22 and April 19-24.

Yes, we realize that no timeframe is ideal for everybody, and any set of
dates will be a compromise considering countless factors.

If there are any strong objections to the May 3-8 timeframe for DLV
2004, please speak now.

Again, these dates are tentative, so please do not make any
non-refundable arrangements at this time.

These dates will be announced as final in the August-September mailing
unless a significant number of compelling objections are received.

Boardwalk:

The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino (http://www.hiboardwalk.com/) has stated
that they would like to pursue a better relationship with DLV.

In their words, they are interested in "mending fences" and have stated
that they will be offering special room rates and other incentives to
encourage our people to stay (and play) at the Boardwalk.

They have asked for feedback, comments, and suggestions.

If you stayed at Boardwalk for DLV (or any other times) or if you have
attended any DLV functions there, or even been there on your own, please
give us your comments and suggestions. Just reply to this mailing or
write dlv@geekbabe.com with your comments and we will gather them and
pass them on. Your name will not be sent on with your comments unless
you specifically state that you want it to be included.
