All set to go next week:

This will be the last general mailing to the DLV list prior to DLV.

The Large Final Mailing will be sent out to those with validated
registrations this coming Monday or Tuesday.

If you hold a validated registration and do not receive your LFM
material by this coming Wednesday, please send e-mail to
dlv@geekbabe.com and let us know. Please be very explicit about what
you are missing, and please remember to check your "spam", "bulk", and
"junk" folders, since we've recently had issues of some of our mailings
erroneously being classified as spam.

The only other mailings over the next 2 weeks or so will be important
announcements of an unforseen nature.

If you're registered and you know you're not going to make it to DLV
(everybody should definitely know one way or the other by now), please
either drop by the registration screen on the web (link below) and
cancel or drop us a note and tell us you're not coming. This helps us
out significantly, and lets the others move up on waiting lists and
such.

I've enjoyed being your List Moderator over the past year, and I look
forward to meeting all of you in person in just a week.

I know I speak for all of the Org group when I say we look forward to
the most successful DLV in its 8-year history. We appreciate everybody's
cooperation with the new processes. We're looking forward to a fun and
very hassle-free DLV.

I now turn you over to the DLV Activity Coordinators for what may very
well be the best week of your life! :)

Last-minute registration:

This is last call for general DLV 2004 registration. You must be
registered and validated by Sunday evening at 2359 CDT in order to be
included in the ride share lists, the full activity sign-up process, and
other things.

Registration will remain open until 2359 CDT this coming Wednesday, but
those registering after Sunday may not be able to sign up for some of
the optional activities.

Walk-in registration may or may not be offered this year, depending
on our final headcount projections. We will have very close to a
full house.

Some of our suggested hotels are still showing good availability over
most of the DLV days. Sahara is still open all days, but not cheap for
the weekends. San Remo is sold out for Saturday, May 1. Imperial Palace
is sold out for Sat-Sun May 1-2 and Fri-Sat May 7-8.

Metropolitan Community Church:

Each of our general mailings features one DLV activity in detail. This
week we spotlight our attendance at Metropolitan Community Church on
Sunday morning.

Metropolitan Community Church is a Christian denomination which offers
the GLBT community an opportunity to worship without the guilt and shame
that is frequently associated with other denominations.

The first Metropolitan Community Church was founded in Los Angeles in
1968 and Metropolitan Community Churches now appear in most major
metropolitan areas (and even some rural areas) throughout the world.

As MCC's literature states:

+Metropolitan Community Churches provide an opportunity to explore a
+spiritual experience that affirms who we are.

+Throughout the history of Metropolitan Community Churches, thousands of
+gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual people have found
+hope, and have lived the joy, reverence, and excitement of our
+fellowship and faith in God. We have seen how people have been changed
+by this experience. Quite simply, we make a difference in people's
+lives.

DLV attendees have attended MCC in the past, but this is the first year
we are including MCC as a scheduled activity.

We would like to invite all who are in Las Vegas on Sunday morning to
attend with us. Sign-up is requested, so we can get an idea of how many
to expect, but it's not required.

As Tootsye, co-hostess of this activity, states:

+Going to church on Sunday morning is just so natural to me, that it
+didn't even occur to me not to go last year. Jamie Renae and I went
+and could not have felt more welcome.

MCC welcomes all, including you, in the mode you prefer.

Tootsye adds:

+I have found worshiping the Lord while enfemme to be a very rewarding
+experience. I hope that others will share it with me.

Meet the group just outside the main sanctuary about 9:45am, right
before services. If the group is not obvious to you, look for the
hostess carrying the "DLV" sign.

Cost: Modest donation suggested.

Dress: Las Vegas MCC has a very casual congregation. Casual is
suggested, boymode or girlmode, but an outfit that is dressy but
not flashy would also be appropriate.

Galiano Challenge:

Densie writes:

Uh, am I going to have a choice here? :)

For those not familiar with Galiano [sic], it is a very gross liquid
that is commonly used to remove paint and dissolve industrial waste.
It would be more effective on drain clogs than Liquid Plumr<tm> but
it would dissolve the pipes as well.

I'm sure the various stories of DLV and Galiano [sic] will be told and
re-told, in various stages of accuracy and embellishment, at this year's
DLV. :)

Glamour Boutique updates:

+We are proud to announce that Glamour Boutique will be providing a free
+Limo tour of the Strip Saturday evening for anyone who comes in for a
+makeover on Saturday. After being pampered with a makeover and
+professional photo shoot, the girls will be whisked away on a tour of
+the fabulous Las Vegas strip and be dropped off right at the evening
+activities that night! The perfect opportunity for our Diva friends to
+pamper themselves. We have limited slots though, so we do recommend
+booking an appointment soon. (Significant others can join along
+without a makeover for just $20)

+And a reminder about our open house. We are not charging admission to
+our open house on Thursday, as we would rather meet all the girls. We
+will be providing free demonstrations of our Glamour Spray as well.
+You see it all over TV now, but we have had it for almost a year! Come
+and see the new revolution in makeup demonstrated by our very popular
+makeup artist, Amy

Bad Attitude Boutique update:

+Hello Girls!

+As the week draws near we are getting very excited! Many of the girdles
+and garters we sell exclusively we on eBay we are holding on to and
+will bring into the store just for the Diva's! All will be only $7.00
+to $15.00 no matter what the original price.

+I wanted to remind everyone that is interested in hair removal that a
+technician from Sona Hair Removal center will be on hand to answer all
+your questions Wednesday 5/5/2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. I just went in
+for my first treatment and found out that all of Sona's technicians are
+nurses, the treatment was nearly painless and the salon is a beautiful
+warm and welcoming environment.

+We will do the Corset workshop all week long with anyone interested and
+everyone is welcome to enter the drawing for the free Meschantes
+Corset. If you are local you do not have to be present Friday at 3:00
+PM to win, just write down that you are local on your entrance card and
+include your local phone number. If you are from out of town you must
+be present so that we can do a proper fitting and so you can pick from
+the fabric swatches available that week.

Deadlines and cutoffs (updated):

Sunday, April 25, is the last day to register (or to edit your
registration) to appear on the lists of volunteer drivers or those who
need rides which will be sent with the Large Final Mailing. This is also
the deadline for all other LFM material.

Golf and NSD side trip sign-ups will be frozen late Sunday evening.

Tuesday, April 27 is the deadline for payment for golf. See golf list

Wednesday, April 28, 2359 CDT is the deadline for DLV 2004 registration.

This is also the deadline for all activity sign-ups and changes.
(Activity sign-ups and changes made after Sunday, April 26, will not
appear on your final itinerary.)

This is the deadline for Big Sister requests via e-mail as well. Big
Sister support will be available in person at DLV, but cannot be
requested in advance after this date.

Friday, April 30, 0800 CDT, is the deadline for registration validation.
THIS IS A DROP-DEAD CUTOFF. Registrations which have not been properly
validated by this time will be cancelled.

Friday, April 30, is the deadline for all routine correspondence that
requires a response prior to DLV. All non-emergency e-mail received
after April 30 will be held until after DLV.

Monday, May 3, is the deadline to pick up your "token" if you are on the
confirmed list for the Night Of The Soiled Doves side trip. Any tokens
unclaimed on Tuesday morning will be released to the waiting list. See
mailings for time and location of unclaimed token distribution.

Tuesday, May 4, is the deadline for payment for group seating for
Thursday's Ovation show. If you want to sit with the DLV group for this
show, payment must be received no later than Tuesday. Payment may be

Tuesday, May 4, is the deadline for payment for the Limo Tour. Spaces
not claimed by Wednesday will be released to the waiting list. Payment
