Less than a month to go! We're still right on track for our projected
turnout to be in the 120-130 range.

Most of this week's mailing will deal with activity sign-up and other
things to come.

First, some general announcements:

Jennifer/Jenny from Hawaii with a Yahoo address ... your e-mail is
bouncing. We have no means of contact for you. If anybody is
acquainted with this person, please pass the word.

Most common problem -- by far -- with registration is typo errors on the
e-mail address. Please watch this when you register. Spelling counts! :)

The English High Tea has been scheduled for Saturday Afternoon. Please
note that this is different from the Little Girl Tea Party on Monday.

It's come to our attention that a few people have signed up for
roommates and/or Big Sisters and have not registered.

Registration is required to participate in DLV 2005.

Please do not attempt to contact DLV vounteers by telephone. (In the T*
community, phoning somebody without explicit permission to do so is
considered very rude.) Yes, there are some phone numbers floating out
there on the net listed as "DLV Contact Numbers", but quite a few of
them no longer have any association with DLV. Your cooperation is
appreciated.

Yes, as always there will be local contact numbers given to those who
hold validated registrations. Please consider these to be valid for
the duration of DLV 2005 only.

Activity sign-up:

Toward the end of this coming week (around April 1) we will begin our
activity sign-up for DLV 2005. This is where you let us know which of
the optional activities you want to do.

All activities that do not appear on the activity sign-up screen are
no sign-up, just show-up in nature.

Everybody who holds a validated registration for DLV 2005 as of this
coming Thursday will receive a special activity sign-up e-mail on or
around April 1.

IF YOU HOLD A VALIDATED REGISTRATION FOR DLV 2005 AND DO NOT RECEIVE
THIS BY SUNDAY, APRIL 3., SOMETHING IS WRONG AND WE NEED TO KNOW.
If you don't receive it, please report it to: dlv@geekbabe.com

Even if you don't wish to do any of the activities listed, please sign
up with a "no" for each activity, since the activity sign-up also serves
as "reconfirming" your intent to attend DLV.

This e-mail will contain a link to the activity sign-up screen. It
will be your own personal screen. The URL will not work for others.
This should be clickable in most mailers, or if not, you can do a
cut-paste or carefully type it into your browser.

Simply click on the link (or cut-paste or type) and click the checkboxes
of what you want to do.

You will be able to change or update your selections at any time. One
very important note it that you will not lose your "place in line" for
an activity if you drop it and sign up for it again later.

You will receive a sumary of your activity selections in the Large Final
Mailing (see below) around April 20.

If you don't receive this by next Sunday, please let us know. If you
have any questions about any activity, please let us know. If you have
any difficulty with activity sign-up, let us know and if necessary we
will handle it manually for you.

Large Final Mailing:

On or around April 20 we will send out what we call our Large Final
Mailing.

At DLV we try to limit the number of dead trees that we hand you when
you check in. Most of the information that you'll need will be coming
to you in the Large Final Mailing.

The Large Final Mailing will include:

* Your personalized final activity selections and itinerary.
* Final detailed schedule of DLV activities.
* Very detailed directions to DLV activity locations.
* Link to a map of DLV activity locations.
* Link to visual directions (photos) of many DLV activity venues.
* Dress notes and dress suggestions for each major activity.
* Contact phone number and Big Sister Hotline number.
* Photography information.
* Various vendor/merchant discounts and promotions.

Also included are various hints and notes such as check-in instructions,
how to find the group at our locations, what to do if you have trouble
finding the group, etc.

You should read this material carefully and print out what you think you
will need. We will not be handing out any printed maps, schedules,
directions, etc.

Hint: Print out the LFM and read it on the plane! :)
