Updates and announcements:

First of all, welcome to those who just registered or joined the list.

You're not too late, but you'll need to jump thru a few hoops rather
quickly in order to get in on the things you want to do.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know without
delay.

Thanks to everybody for cooperating with the validation and sign-up
process. That makes it much easier for those of us on this end of
the screen. :)

One sticking point, the validation e-mail. You will need to read it,
carefully, and respond exactly as it asks you to do.

If you simply say "I received this", "I am responding", "I will be
there" or something like that, it makes it painfully obvious that you
didn't read it.

Diva Las Vegas 2006 general registration will close Tuesday, April 11.

Activity sign-up for DLV 2006 activities will also close Tuesday, April
11.

Latest numbers:

As of this time we have a total of 135 reconfirmed. It's going to be a
very good crowd again this year.

5 validations still outstanding. Please get those in. Several activity
sign-ups still outstanding. Please get those in. The clock is ticking!

Space is still available for most of the activities. Night Of The Soiled
Doves has a short waiting list. Limo Tour is full, but we are expecting
several on the waiting list to be cleared due to cancellations and
no-shows.

Questions and answers:

There have been a few questions come in regarding a Pre-DLV get-together
on Sunday prior to DLV.

This will undoubtedly happen, although specific plans have not been made
yet.

This will be announced in the Large Final Mailing if plans are known by
then, or in the DLV Discussion Forum if not known by then.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but if you want to attend any DLV
activities you will need to register. Registration is not optional,
sorry.

Why? First of all, as a potential attendee, you need to know exactly
what DLV is and what it is not. There's still several misunderstandings
about what DLV is going around out there.

Second, we need to know who are attendees are, when to expect them, and
that they have agreed to a few conditions. Speaking very freely, if you
do not want to agree to these conditions, you are not invited to join
us.

I hate to come off sounding like a b*tch about this, but our attendees
have made it very clear that they want everybody in attendance to abide
by our conditions of participation.

Southern Belle Society Social:

Ginger sends in the following about SBS and the SBS Social which will
occur on Saturday of DLV week. This is one activity which is open to
all DLV attendees and all SBS members and members in waiting.

Nora Linda of Nevada and Ginger Gordon of Tennessee are pleased to
announce the Fifth Annual Diva Las Vegas Southern Belle Society Social.

The Social will be held at Hamburger Mary's Las Vegas on Saturday, April
22 from 1 - 3 p.m.

The "official" Social picture will be made at 2 p.m. to accommodate
those who arrive fashionably late and those who may have to leave early.

Hamburger Mary's is located at 4503 Paradise Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89109,
and the telephone number is 702-735-4400. Here is a link to a map

Confused about the Southern Belle Society and the Southern Belle Society
Social scheduled for Hamburger Mary's Las Vegas on Saturday, April 22
from 1 - 3 p.m?

Want to become a Belle?

The Southern Belle Society was created to help transgender persons meet
via the Internet and personal contact to develop friendships and meet
socially. Members meet for Socials which can be called by any member.
Socials are held in many regions of the world and are announced through
an Internet mailing list. While the Southern Belle Society originated in
the southern United States, today members are found throughout much of
the world. You can read more about the Belles' at

To become a Belle write to Melissa Lake, SBS Mistress of Membership
(sbsmembership@southernbellesociety.com) and ask how you can become a
member. A "Belle in Waiting" member must attend a social to become a
full member.

The Social scheduled for April 22 can qualify as your first, but you
must be a Belle in Waiting, so write today! Membership is also open to
significant others and friends.

For those of who speak Spanish as a native language, we have two Spanish
speaking volunteers who can answer your questions and concerns about DLV
