Welcome and Happy Holidays:

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year from the DLV
organizers and volunteers! Hope your holiday season is a great one!

Welcome to newcomers. We're hoping to see all of you in person at
DLV next April. If you have any questions or concerns, please let
us know.

Hotels for DLV 2007:

The DLV organizers have agreed by consensus to suggest the following
hotels for DLV 2007 (in alphabetical order):

* Imperial Palace

* Sahara

* St. Tropez

The Imperial Palace and the Sahara have been "home away from home" for
many DLV attendees over the years.

The St. Tropez is new this year, and is a good option for those who want
an off-Strip hotel, a non-gaming hotel, and for those who might be a bit
shy about walking through a busy casino or hotel lobby.

The St. Tropez is offering special rates to DLV attendees. Big thanks
to Nora for negotiating this.

Things to come:

Express re-registration for returnees will open shortly after the new
year. Most of you who last attended between 2001 and 2006 will receive
a personalized e-mail with a clickable link to express re-registration
on or about January 3.

Registration for newcomers who are on this mailing list (if you are
reading this via e-mail, this applies to you) will open on or about
February 1.

For 2007, we will again be featuring our Big Sister Program, which will
give personal support and encouragement to those who might be new or a
bit uneasy about attending.

Big Sisters will be available both by e-mail prior to DLV, and in person
during DLV.

Big thanks to Nora for agreeing to be our Big Sister Coordinator again
for DLV 2007.

We've expanded the Roommate Matching Program, with on-line sign-up and a
Roommate Coordinator, Diane, who will be spending her primary DLV effort
toward this program. Big thanks to Diane for coordinating roommate
matching.

Once again, ride sharing (at the riders' own risk, of course) will be
coordinated for those staying at our suggested hotels.

Our next general mailing will occur shortly after the new year, and
will contain quite a bit of information about the event to come.
