Welcome, updates, gettin close:

No, we will not be repeating the April Fools joke of a few
years ago. :) :)

We are now just three weeks away from DLV. All plans are being
finalized and activity sign-up is in full swing.

If you have not registered yet but want to attend, see the steps
to take below.

those who have not validated, you will not be able to sign up for
activities until this is taken care of. Your cooperation is
appreciated.

We did have some down time on the web server last Thursday morning.
Hopefully this will not repeat. Please report any further issues.

As far as turnout, the numbers still appear to be converging in
the 130-150 range for total participation. Do keep in mind that
the entire group will never be in one place at any one time. The
largest gatherings of our people are expected to be the Welcome
Celebration on Monday, the dinner on Friday, and the Retro Bash
on Saturday.

Heads up!

Your participation in Diva Las Vegas is highly dependent upon the
ability of us to communicate with you via e-mail. Unfortunately a
few times each year, somebody's participation goes in jeopardy
because of a failure to communicate via e-mail. This has happened
already this year.

The important thing for you to do, is to be aware of when certain
critical mailings are sent, look out for them, and let us know if
you don't receive them. Here's a list of most of these:

1. Validation (or confirmation) e-mail, right after you register.
If you don't receive this, something is wrong somewhere, and we
need to intervene and find out what happened, or didn't happen.

2. Activity sign-up e-mail, within a few days after you register.
You'll need to let us know if you don't receive this within 4-5
days or so of registering.

3. During the week before DLV we'll send out the Large Final Mailing.
Again, let us know if you don't receive all of it or some of it.

Things happening:

Everyone holding a validated registration as of last Thursday
evening should have now received their activity sign-up e-mail.

If you hold a validated registration (as of last Thursday) and
have not received this, please let us know and we will see
what is going on.

For those registering or validating after last Thursday, the
activity sign-up mailings will be sent out in batches every few
days. Be on the lookout for this, and if you don't receive it
within 3 days or so, you need to let us know.

Please click on the enclosed URL and fill out the form even if
you don't wish to do any of the optional activities, as this
reconfirms your intent to attend DLV.

For most activities, you can change your mind and resubmit your
activity selections any time prior to April 19. If you are attending
as a couple, the screen will allow you to sign up for the various
activities either individually or together.

If you have any questions or concerns about activity sign-up, just
write in and ask. If something doesn't seem to be working for you,
please let us know.

Large Final Mailing:

During the middle of the week prior to DLV we will be sending out
our Large Final Mailing to everybody holding an active registration
for DLV 2007.

This will contain such things as the final schedule, a link to a map
of activity locations, driving/walking/etc. directions, contact phone
numbers, check-in locations and instructions, etc.

Again, be looking for this. If you don't receive it by Thursday,
April 19, let us know.

Registration deadline:

General registration for DLV will close at 1:00am CDT on Thursday,
April 19. Unless things slow down significantly, we expect to be
at capacity or near capacity at that time. Therefore, we may not
offer last-minute walk-in registration this year.

Checking in:

You may check in at any DLV activity which is marked "Check-in
available" on the final schedule. This includes all activities
on Monday, April 23, the daily lunch Monday thru Friday, and
several other designated activities.

At your first DLV activity, look for or ask for the check-in host
or hostess. He or she will take your name, remind you of a few
things, give you your name tag, and ask if you have any questions
or concerns. If you're new, he or she will have another volunteer
introduce you around.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER at check-in time, which is one
major difference between us and the other events. We will NOT be
handing you a whole pile of paperwork such as schedules, maps,
directions, vendor lists, etc! Those will be sent to you in the
Large Final Mailing and you will need to print them and bring them
with you. No, we will not have any printed copies for those who
forget! The most we will be able to do is give you directions to
the nearest Kinko's shop or hotel business center where you can
print them for yourself.

Schedule additions and changes:

We have several recent schedule additions and changes to announce
this week.

On Monday afternoon, April 23, we've added a Mature Fashion
Roundtable discussion at 2:30pm. The topic of discussion will be
Contemporary Fashions for Mature Women, and will be hosted by
two GG consultants. Sign-up is requested, but not required, and
yes, those fortunate enough to be under 40 are invited too.
See activity highlight in DLV Discussion Forum (link below). The
daily Walk Off Your Lunch will conclude at the venue.

For Tuesday, April 24, we're planning a Local Happy Hour and Local
buffet dinner for those not attending Night Of The Soiled Doves,
plus a trip to MGM's Studio 54, which will get going about the time
Night of the Soiled Doves is returning to town. Line passes for
Studio 54 will be available.

On Wednesday, April 25, Ballroom Dance Instruction has been added in
the afternoon. Sign-up for dance instruction is required, details on
the activity sign-up screen. Price is only $10 per person! Featured
dance will be the Hustle, with a possible change to West Coast Swing
if indicated by consensus. The Prime Rib Loft has been added as an
Eating Out Night option, including Happy Hour. Sign-up for Prime Rib
Loft is required and space is limited. See details on the activity
sign-up screen. The "O" show, by Cirque Du Soleil, has been selected
for Wednesday's Theater Night. Details appear on the activity sign-up
screen.

The big addition for Thursday, April 26, is that Virginia and Ruthie
have invited the DLV gang to their Commitment Ceremony at 2:00pm.
This is a small chapel, so this will be limited to the first 25 who
sign up on the activity sign-up screen. See further details below.
As noted, English High Tea has been rescheduled for Thursday at
3:00pm. Sign-up and prepayment are required, details are on the
activity sign-up screen.

Congratulations and Best Wishes:

Virginia and Ruthie request the honour of your presence at their
ceremony of commitment on Thursday, April twenty-sixth at two o'clock
PM.

This will be held in one of the Strip's wedding chapels, and the
exact locations, map, and directions will be sent out in the Large
Final Mailing.

Sincere congratulations and best wishes to Virginia and Ruthie from
the organizers and attendees of DLV!

As some of you know, we had a similar ceremony during last year's
DLV, and last year's happy couple (Cheryl and Cyndi) will be returning
and celebrating their first anniversary with us on Friday evening just
prior to dinner. We will also be celebrating Virginia and Ruthie's
commitment at this time.

Gifts are not expected.
