One week to go:

We have, unfortunately, received some sporadic reports of mail
being sent to dlv@geekbabe.com not getting through. If you sent
in something and have not received a response, please resend
and copy dmr436@yahoo.com to be sure. Thanks.

Unless there are any unexpected important announcements, this
will will be the last DLV 2007 general meeting prior to DLV.

All you need to do now is c'mon down and check in as outlined in
the item below.

All signs are pointing to having the best-attended and smoothest
running DLV ever.

The organizers and volunteers made special notes on the rough
spots reported on last year's survey, and have vowed to not let
them repeat this year.

I would like to thank all of the volunteers and activity coordinators
for an excellent job this year. We've really had very few snags and
issues and your efforts are appreciated by all.

The real credit, however, for making DLV what it is goes to the
attendees, over 100 for the fifth straight year in a row, without
whom DLV would not happen!

Hotmail and msn.com users, please see an important note in the
announcement of the Large Final Mailing below.

All advance copies of the Large Final Mailing were sent out on
Friday and Saturday. If you requested an advance copy of the LFM
and did not receive all or part of it, please let us know. You
should have received seven items total. (Hotmail users, please
be sure to check your "Junk" folder. We have no control over
this.)

At this time, all DLV correspondence appears to be caught up. If
you wrote in with something and have not received a response,
please send in a reminder BEFORE THIS COMING THURSDAY.

All non-urgent DLV correspondence received after this coming
Wednesday will be held until after DLV.

Likewise, all DLV Discussion Forum messages received during DLV
will be held and posted just after DLV has concluded.

Latest numbers:

As of this time, we have 144 reconfirmed. Although registrations
continue to trickle in, I think it's safe to say that over 95%
of those who will be present are now accounted for.

This will be the last "numbers" report for DLV 2007. It's going
to be a very good crowd this year, with a good mix of veterans and
newcomers.

Thanks to all for your exemplary cooperation with procedures this
year. You may not see this, but it really helped out in making
things run smoothly.

Last call:

This is last call for DLV 2007.

Registration will close at or about 0100 CDT this coming Thursday.

Registering Wednesday evening is cool. If you would like to get in
on DLV, we would love to have you!

Thursday morning is too late, sorry.

If you are going to register between now and Thursday morning, we
need to get you on the fast track regarding validation and activity
sign-up. We'll be processing these as soon as possible, so please
check your e-mail frequently and respond promptly.

To save time, remember to read that validation e-mail completely!
If you respond without reading it, it's painfully obvious, and
requires an admonition from us and another response. Please don't
let this delay your validation and activity sign-up past cut-off.

If you do get a validation in by Thursday morning but don't get
your activities selected, this will be flagged on the check-in
sheets and the check-in host or hostess will let you know which
of the optional activities are available.

Missing In Action:

For those who were sent the manual activity sign-up forms in
e-mail, please fill those in and send them back as soon as possible
so we can finalize the rosters for the activity coordinators.

Some specific personal notes:

Ericka B: You need to validate your registration. See the mailings
that were sent to you. The ball is in your court. You need to act
if you still want to attend.

Rebecca from Canada: You also need to validate. Since you're
on Hotmail, please check your junk folder if you haven't been
receiving our requests to validate.

Trisha R. from Southern California: You need to validate. Check
your mailbox, please . Time is running out! The ball is in your
court, you need to do something with it!

Any questions, concerns, or misunderstandings on the above,

will be cancelled on Monday unless one of the following happens:

1. You make your activity selections as requested by numerous
mailings to you. If for some reason you haven't received anything,
please let us know.

2. You send us a brief note "yes I will be there" to reconfirm your
intent to attend DLV.

If you have any difficulty at all in signing up for activities, let
us know. We'll help you out. Even if you don't want to do any of
the optional things, tell us. Just let us know that you are still
with us and will indeed attend. That's perfectly fine.

Various activity notes:

In general, most of the sign-up activities still have space. The
only full activities are the Night Of The Soiled Doves, Prime Rib
Loft, and the Friday Bahama Breeze dinner.

English High Tea:

Deadline for payments and cancellations for the English High Tea
is TODAY, Sunday, April 15. If you lost the payment information,
please send in a note and ask for it. This needs to be taken care
of today.

Prime Rib Loft, Eating Out Night:

The reservation for the Prime Rib Loft has been increased, so some
of you who originally saw waiting list when you signed up will show
confirmed when the Large Final Mailing comes out.

Limo Tour payments:

The good news is that everybody who has signed up for the Limo Tour
so far is now confirmed, even if it showed "waiting list" when you
signed up.

Payment for the Limo Tour must be made no later than 5:00pm Pacific
Daylight Time on Wednesday of DLV week. Payment may be made at any
of the following DLV activities:

* Sunday evening unofficial Pre-DLV Happy Hour.
* Studio Lites Open House.
* Mature Fashion Roundtable.
* All Monday evening activities.
* Night Of The Soiled Doves.
* Other times/places by appointment.

Cash only please, exact change appreciated.

If you are signed up for the Limo Tour and will not be arriving
before Wednesday at 5:00pm PDT, or if you will not be at any of
the above activities, please write to dlv@geekbabe.com (or just
reply to this mailing) and make arrangements for payment.

Large Final Mailing:

We've been over the Large Final Mailing details several times,
and we're not going to bore you with yet another repeat. See
the back mailing archive if you need details. It will be sent
out toward the end of this coming week. There are a few important
things you will need to keep in mind.

1. Unfortunately, each year, one or two of the Large Final
Mailings will bounce. (Returned as undeliverable for one reason
or another.) Please be expecting the large Final Mailing on
Thursday, and be sure there's room in your inbox to receive this.
Yes, we will try resending, but if we don't have a means of
contact with you, you may be SOL. :(

The Large Final Mailing will be sent to the e-mail address you
gave us when you registered, and may or may not be the same
address we're sending the general mailings to.

2. If you will be leaving home early or will not have access to
e-mail or a printer after this Wednesday, please write in and
request an advance copy of the Large Final Mailing. Advance
copies are sent out in batches depending on the times requested.

3. You should expect to receive the Large Final Mailing by
Friday morning at the very latest. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE ALL
OR PART OF THE LARGE FINAL MAILING BY FRIDAY MORNING, PLEASE
WRITE IN AND EXPLAIN WHAT PARTS ARE MISSING. You should receive
seven items total.

4. This is very important, but each year several people miss
this. WE WILL NOT BE HANDING OUT ANY PRINTED MAPS, SCHEDULES,
ETC. AT DLV. These will be sent to you in the Large Final
Mailing. No, we won't have any for those who forget. The best
we'll be able to do is give you directions to the nearest
Kinkos shop where you can print these out.

5. Please check over your final activity selections in your
itinerary section and let us know ASAP if things are not the
way they should be. Please help us get all corrections done
prior to DLV.

ATTENTION HOTMAIL AND MSN USERS: In sending test copies of the
Large Final Mailing, we're finding that in several cases, parts
of it are ending up in the "junk" folder on hotmail.com and
possibly msn.com accounts. You should receive a total of seven
items for the Large Final Mailing. If any are missing, check
your junk folder. If you still can't find them, please write
in and request a resend.

Checking in:

DLV check-in will be available at all Monday activities, the daily
lunch on all days, and at several other designated activities. Just
look for or ask for the volunteer who is checking in and he or she
will get you taken care of.

The check-in host or hostess will also be able to answer any
questions or concerns you may have regarding almost anything
that has to do with DLV.

In the Large Final Mailing you will receive local contact phone
numbers and the Big Sister Emergency number. If you need to get
in contact with us for any reason, if you need directions, if you
can't seem to find the group, even if you just want to double check
that we're there and waiting for you, give us a call.

If you should get "stuck" in your hotel room or vehicle, phone
the Big Sister Hotline. This has happened before, and it's nothing
to be ashamed of. We'll get a Big Sister to come and escort you if
you would feel better.

If you would feel more comfortable if you first met one of our
volunteers one-on-one before joining us for a large group gathering,
just let us know. We have several volunteers who will not mind
doing this for you.

We sincerely wish to make your DLV experience as comfortable as
possible, and if you're new or nervous, just let us know and we
will do what we can.

Walk-ins:

Here's the story:

General DLV registration has now been open for some time. It will
remain open through this coming Wednesday. You have had plenty of
time to register and you still have time if you are sincere about
attending.

Due to the fact that we are close to capacity this year, walk-ins
will not be allowed except under exceptional circumstances.

If you simply show up without being on the roster, particularly at
those activities which are at capacity, please expect to be turned
away. Sorry, there was plenty of time to register, and still is if
you really want to attend.
