Thanks and things to come:

Our semi-final through-the-door headcount now sits at 148,
about 5% over our machine-predicted turnout and over 10%
above our five-year moving average. This makes DLV 2009 our
second-highest attended event in our history.

Thanks again to all for making DLV 2009 the success it was!

Here's a non-inclusive listing of things to come as we do our
final wrap-up of DLV 2009 and move forward to DLV 2010.

Please rate our vendors:

One ongoing project of Diva Las Vegas is to keep an accurate
list of TG-friendly merchants, vendors, clubs, hotels, bars,
restaurants, etc. in the Las Vegas area.

This is made up entirely of user-supplied information, such
as ratings, comments, property information, etc.

We call this our "Big List" and it's on line here:

We would like to ask all of you to please visit the Big List
and rate any merchants and vendors you came in contact with
during DLV 2010, both those we used for DLV functions, and
those you may have visited on your own.

Did you have a great time at a bar or club? Please let others
know about it! Did your hotel room suck? If so, please warn
others about it!

It's very easy to do, just a few simple mouse clicks. Why not

Photo staging area:

On or about June 15, those who attended can expect to receive
a special mailing with a personal link to the DLV 2009 photo
staging area.

Photos from DLV 2009 are intended to remain confidential
among attendees until all have had a chance to review the
submitted photos. Your understanding and cooperation are
appreciated by all.

As some of you may know, last year the single static link to
the photo staging area "leaked" very soon after it was sent to
the attendees. This year we're doing it differently. Each of
you will get a unique link which is not to be shared with
others. Should anything leak this year, it will be easy to
disable the link and identify the offender.

Please be watching for this special e-mail on or about
Monday, June 15.

IF YOU ATTENDED AND DO NOT RECEIVE THIS BY TUESDAY,
JUNE 16, SOMETHING IS WRONG AND WE NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT IT!

This mailing will include instructions on what to do to
request removal of any photos you don't like in which you
appear.

One important note:

IF YOUR NAME IS LISTED ON THE "MISSING IN ACTION"
LIST BELOW, YOU HAVE BEEN FLAGGED AS A NO-SHOW FOR
DLV 2009. You will not receive your link to the photo
staging area unless you "report in" and verify that you
were indeed in attendance during at least one DLV 2009
activity.

Call For Volunteers:

All of those fun and rewarding times you just had were made
possible because somebody stepped forward and made those
activities happen!

Diva Las Vegas has always run entirely on volunteer help, and
yes, we're looking for more volunteers.

The planning and organization of DLV is done mostly on line
via e-mail. It's interactive and participatory. Volunteers
form what we call the Diva Las Vegas Organizers (DLVORG)
group.

The DLVORG group is not at all closed or exclusive. With
very rare exception only, it's open to anybody who expresses
interest in helping out with DLV.

DLVORG people participate at the decision-making level, the
organizing and planning level, and at the nuts-and-bolts level.

The DLVORG group has one mission and one mission only, and that
is to plan the activities that make up what we call Diva Las
Vegas.

Most of the real "work" involves planning activities and making
the activities happen. (And I say "work" in quotes, because it
can actually be a lot of fun!)

If you're sincere about wanting to do your part to make a great
thing even better, to give back what DLV has given to you, and
help to run an event that has literally changed lives, please
step forward!

I would also encourage those who are "newly out" to consider
volunteering. We need the perspective of those who are new to
public exposure when planning DLV. Each year since 1997, DLV
has given some of our people their first public experience.
We do value the input and support of those who are new, as
we do the input from those who have been in public for years.

Fill out and check a few things, click SUBMIT, and you're on

Alternatively, simply send a brief e-mail message to
dlvorg@geekbabe.com and state you wish to volunteer. (Or, just
reply to this mailing and state that you wish to volunteer.)

Please include a sentence or two stating how you are most
interested in helping out. Anything general or specific ("I
wanna plan a sky-diving party.", or "I'll help any way I can.")
is perfectly fine. Anything from one sentence to a book length
manuscript will be ok. :)

We're not asking for any kind of a major time or effort
commitment on your part. All we ask is that each volunteer
organize, or assist with one activity. That's it.

If you're a bit shy, that's fine. We'll find something for you
where you don't have to go cold-calling vendors or anything
like that.

And yes, out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged! As you know,
we're not limited to the things that traditionally happen at
TG events, and we're certainly not limited to those which
have happened so far at DLV.

If you enjoyed DLV you'll most likely also enjoy Pinkfest?

What is Pinkfest?

I'm glad you asked. :)

Pinkfest is a vacation, not a convention. (Sound familiar?) It
happens each October in Chicago. It's much smaller than DLV,
but it's a lot of fun!

Pinkfest has no official connection to DLV, but the roots
of both are intertwined. Yes, if you attend Pinkfest you're
sure to see some familiar faces. :) Likewise, we have a good
mix of mainstream and alternative venues and facilities at
Pinkfest.

Pinkfest 2009 will happen Thursday, October 22 - Sunday,
October 25. Information is on line at:

DLV 2009 follow-up survey LAST CALL:

The DLV 2009 follow-up survey remains on line through June 15
and we would like to ask all who attended to please help us
out by letting us know how things went for you.

If you attended as a couple, we ask that each one of you take
the survey individually.

Please take the survey only once, with one major excption:

If you already took the survey and you want to add any
additional comments, please bring up the survey again, go
directly to the final free-form text boxes, and submit
another entry without checking any of the buttons or boxes
in the main part of the survey. You may do this as many
times as you like.

This survey is most helpful to us in summarizing this year's
event and planning events in years to come. We thank all who
attended, in advance, for taking the survey.

Call For Photos:

Our Call For Photos continues. The photo staging area on the
web will open (for DLV 2009 participants) on June 15.

The Call For Photos will remain open until July 15.

Everyone who attended gets a reasonable number of "NO WAY"
requests on the photos in which they appear.

The review period will remain open until September 1.

Once the photos are reviewed by those who may be in them,
we will then begin to assemble the finished DLV 2009
follow-up photo pages on our web site.

Here are the ways you can submit photos:

1. By e-mail, file attach using any sane format.

2. By FTP. Faster and cleaner than by e-mail. Please let us
know if you want to submit photos by FTP and we'll get you
the login credentials.

3. By snailmail. CDs, DVDs, floppies, or hardcopy prints,
any sane format. If you want these back, please say so and
we'll cover the return postage. Write in for the mailing
address.

Now, as for size and format ...

We'll take them any way you want to send them, but a good
sane size would be around 1500 pixels on the long side, .jpg,
medium quality, 72dpi. We do have scripts to normalize the
size, brightness, and contrast.

Zip or tar files are not necessary. We'll take them that
way if you want to send them that way, but it's not required.

Please don't send in any photos which are altered, such as
faces blurred, eyes blacked out, etc., nor those which are
captioned, composites, or fakes.

Missing in action:

We want to be sure that everyone who attended has been counted,
and that nobody who actually attended is flagged in our records
as a no-show.

Please look over the following list. If your name is NOT on
it, you don't need to do anything.

If your name IS on it, and you DID attend, please let us know.
Just reply to this mailing, and please give us the first DLV
activity you attended.

Also, if you see somebody on this list who you know with 110%
certainty who was at any DLV activity, please let us know.

Yes, this list is quite a bit shorter than the first one we
