Welcome to all:

Welcome to those who have just joined the list. We're looking
forward to seeing you next April. If you have any questions
or concerns, please let us know.

This will most likely be the last DLV general mailing until
December, 2009, when our suggested hotels will be announced.

Preliminary plans are now happening in preparation for DLV
2010 next April. Currently we're focusing primarily on some
of the strategic elements of the event. Details of the
planning will appear in these mailing as they occur.

DLV 2010 dates are final:

Our one-month call for comments on the tentative DLV 2010
dates has expired with no significant objections being
raised.

Therefore, the dates of Sunday, April 18 thru Friday, April
23, 2010 may now be considered final and set in stone.

Thanks to all who provided input to the date selection
process for DLV 2010.

Photos of DLV 2009:

All photo removal requests which were received by September
10 have been processed. Please double-check to be sure that
your requested removals have been done.

We're holding the photo staging area open until September 15
for any final photo removal requests.

One particular note: If you don't see some photos in there
which you're sure were submitted, DO NOT RESEND, but send
in a note which includes the file/photo name(s) you used
when you sent them in, and approximately when you sent
them. We'll then compare this with what we show as being
received and what we've processed.

A request please:

We would like to ask the cooperation of all to refrain from
sending those semi-automated "invitations" to various groups
and sites to the DLV e-mail addresses.

Lately we seem to be inundated with invitations to such
things as Facebook, MyDailyFlog, Singlesnet, Yahoo groups,
Myspace, Linkdln, various chat rooms, etc.

If you wish to announce your web site, chat facility, blog,
group, or whatever, to DLV people, please feel free to post
a non-recurring, non-automated, typed-by-your-own-hands
announcement in the DLV Discussion Forum. This is on the

Can't wait until DLV?

We have Pinkfest in Chicago in October. That's next month! :)

Pinkfest is another "Vacation, not Convention", much smaller
than DLV, but a lot of fun! Like DLV, we have a good mix of
mainstream and alternative activities at Pinkfest.

Pinkfest has no official connection to DLV, but the roots
of both events are intertwined. If you've been to one, you
are bound to see familiar faces at the other.

Please join us in congratulating Kimberly Kael who was
selected, by acclamation, to fill the at-large "odd year"
seat on our Administrative Committee.

Kimberly joins Annie, Gina, Ginger, and Nora on the Committee.

The Administrative Committee is the group responsible for
the non-activity related business of DLV.

We would also like to thank Lisa, whose term on the Admin.
Committee expired last month, for her term of service.
