Welcome to those who have just joined the list. Please refer
to our "roadmap" on the following page for what you need to
do if you want to attend DLV 2010 and have not registered yet.

This will give you a 1-2-3 step-by-step guide to what you
need to do, from a cold start to attending DLV.

DLV 2010 is getting closer and closer! Things are happening
very fast, and yes, you can expect the pace to quicken even
more as we approach April 18.

Big thanks go out to our volunteer force. They are planning
a fun-filled schedule of all kinds of activities for you!

As of Saturday morning we have 182 validated attendees signed
up, including 31 SOs. Best estimate for a total turnout this
year is somewhere in the 160 to 180 range.

One thing to remember, you will never see the entire group in
any one place at any one time. The two largest gatherings of
our people will be on Monday and Friday evenings of DLV week.

The big thing on the horizon is activity sign-up time, which
is just over two weeks away! See notes below.

Schedule notes:

Our schedule is shaping up well, but it is still to be
considered tentative. A few notes on some recent items
of interest.

We've added a trip to the Imperial Palace Auto Collection
as a session of the "Art" Tour, this particular session
being on Sunday afternoon.

Also for Sunday evening we'll have multiple happy hour
options, multiple dining options, and then two larger
common gatherings, one very mainstream, and the other
"alternative", meaning comfortable for beginners and
those newly out.

Beginner Open House:

This is a new feature for DLV 2010 and will happen on
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of DLV week. This will
be in a private condominium suite and coordinated by a
supportive GG who has been active with DLV for several
years.

Those who are newly-out and those who desire to get more
exposure to mainstream public are encouraged to attend.

Of special note will be a carpool effort between the Beginner
Open House and our Welcome Celebration on Monday, to help
gently ease beginners into the mainstream with an extra
measure of support.

Official group photo:

This year we want to get as many of our attendees included
in this, so we're going to do the group photo at the peak
of what will be the most-attended activity of DLV 2010.

This will happen at 8:30pm at our Welcome Celebration on
Monday evening of DLV week.

One of our more unusual activities this year is Roller
Derby Boot Camp, two sessions, on Tuesday and Thursday.
You may attend either or both sessions. This is the real
thing, on the site of the training center for the Las
Vegas High Rollers Roller Derby team.

Of special note this year will be daily informal get-togethers
in our suggested hotels. Specific details of these will be
sent to those who have indicated that they will be staying
in at the Imperial Palace, Sahara, Harrahs, and Paris.

Of course several of our recurring favorites are with us
again for 2010 including the Limo Tour on Wednesday, Pity
Party and Night Of The Soiled Doves on Thursday, and the
English High Tea on Friday.

Activity sign-up:

The next big milestone for those of you coming to DLV will be
activity sign-up. This is when you tell us which of the many
optional activities you want to do.

Most of the activities at DLV are on a "no sign-up, just
show up" basis. However, many of them will require sign-up
in advance.

For DLV 2010, we're expecting over 160 attendees, and we will
have over 30 activities which require some kind of a sign-up
or other actions in advance. To attempt a manual sign-up
would be incredibly difficult, so we have a process by which
attendees can conveniently sign up for the optional things
that are of interest to them.

For those of you who are new, this is how it works:

During the last full week in March (that's the week of March
22, Monday) everyone who holds a validated registration for
DLV 2010 will receive a special mailing for activity sign-up.

These will be sent out in batches in roster order number, so
those who have attended for many years can expect theirs
around the first of the week, and newcomers who just signed
up can expect them around the end of the week.

This special e-mail will contain a link to your own personal
activity sign-up screen.

The information on the sign-up screen will be expanded for
DLV 2010, giving more information on each activity, which
will include such things as:

1. A description of the activity, including general location
information.

2. The cost, or the approximate price range of the activity.

3. The payment information, and details of how to pay if
prepayment is required for the activity.

4. Any deadlines, cut-offs, restrictions, commitments, etc.
regarding the activity.

5. For some activities, spaces to enter appropriate personal
preferences.

Many of the activities have a capacity limit, and in most
cases it will be first-signed, first-served, but in some
cases first-paid, first-served will determine priority.
