Last Minute:

OOPS! OOPS!

It's been pointed out that the date of some Friday activities and one of
the Saturday activities in the final itinerary were in error. The
correct date for all Friday DLV 2003 activities is Friday, April 25, and
the correct date for all Saturday DLV 2003 activities is Saturday, April
26. Hopefully everybody realized this was an oversight.

Another slight error. The price for the Thursday lunch at the Bellagio
buffet did not properly appear on the final schedule. The price for
lunch at Bellagio is $14.95 per person.

As of this time we appear to be caught up with DLV correspondence. If
you sent in an item that you expected a response on and have not
received one, please remind us. Due to the volume of mail and the late
hour, I have not been responding individually to late cancellations,
arrival and departure changes, and activity deletions.

Everybody who inquired about last-minute registration and has included
the correct information should now have received instructions.

Oh, and we do thank you for updating us on these items. It helps us keep
better track of things, and it allows those on the waiting lists to know
they will be able to do what they want to do.

serious about attending, see the note below about last minute
registration.

As of just a while ago, Sahara still has rooms for the entire DLV
period, with decent rates ($42) for weekdays, but $129 for Friday and
Saturday.

If you have trouble finding a room, or finding one you can afford, the
best thing to do this close to show time is contact the Las Vegas
Convention and Visitors Authority (these are the folks who run the Las
Vegas Convention Center) at 1-877-VISITLV as they will know who has
rooms available.

This will be the last mailing to the DLV Announcement List (other than
any important updates or schedule changes) prior to DLV 2003.

I would like to thank all of the DLV volunteers for their year of
great service. This group comprises some of the finest people you
could meet on either side of life, and the group works very well
together. Please be sure to thank these people in person. :)

Tina's Annual Karaoke Report:

Tina writes:

LV is a good city for finding many karaoke venues. I've marked the ones
that I'm personally familiar with that are t*-friendly, plus listed a
few others that are just plain interesting. (Some people arrive early
or stay over after DLV on business and even go to karaoke in, gasp,
boy-mode.)

We have one official karaoke event on the 2003 DLV calendar (late night
Wednesday at Goodtimes), but I have been known to sneak away to sing at
other times. Other DLV girls do it too, honest, Mom!! Just let me know
if you wish to indulge.

FYI, karaoke is always secondary to other DLV activities. Addresses and
directions to most of these places are in Annie's big mailing, while
others are extremely well-known (e.g., Barbary Coast), thus in the phone
book. This info is merely provided as a public service announcement.
While I was able to confirm most of these by phone over the past
weekend, all such things change, so always call first. :-)

FreeZone (t-friendly, call to confirm, 702-794-2310)

Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Highway (702- 456-7777, I've never been to
karaoke here, but some people love the cheap food)

Monday

Flex (with Eric, starts at 9 PM, usually a cabaret singer before, VERY
t-friendly HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

Barbary Coast (very mainstream, NOT considered t-friendly establishment,
but highly regarded by local singers)

Tuesday

FreeZone (t-friendly, call to confirm, this seems to change a lot
between Monday and Tuesday, 702-794-2310)

I keep hearing that Eric does a karaoke show at Hamburger Mary's
*sometimes* on Tuesdays, but can't confirm a schedule

Wednesday

Goodtimes (our one OFFICIAL karaoke DLV event, with Eric, starts at 10
PM, VERY t-friendly, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

Thursday

NASCAR Lounge, Sahara Hotel

Thunderbird Lounge, Karaoke with Kevin, 1215 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
383-3100.

Friday and Saturday

NEW YORK NEW YORK LOUNGE / NY NY CASINO 3790 S. Las Vegas Blvd. (702)
740-6969 - Nightly 8:30pm

Go to the Web sites I listed and you'll find literally a hundred more

Last-minute registration:

Regular DLV registration is now closed.

You can, however, still get in on some of the events and activities.

Here's what you need to do:

1.Read over the DLV website to be sure you know what DLV is all about.

3.Send a brief e-mail message to dlv@geekbabe.com requesting last-minute
registration instructions.

In your message, state the following information:

.Your name, and the name of your SO, if attending.
.What dates you will arrive and depart.
.Where you are staying in Las Vegas.
.That you have read the Conditions Of Participation (link above) and
agree to abide by them.

All four items above are required for last-minute registration. If your
message does not have the above information, you will simply receive a
reply stating to provide that information.

4.Make your travel and accommodations arrangements.

5.Show up and have a great time!

Too late for the mailing....just got off the phone with Sasha.....
there will be a show after Michael Cagle on Weds. nite with more of a
transgender atmosphere.

Apparantly some of the DLVer's have approached her about performing and
she will add them to the show that night. They just need to check in
with her on Weds. when they arrive.

Here is another Karaoke item.....Sasha's has all the equipment and
would be happy to make it available. Maybe someone would like to do a
number between Cagle and the evening show? Just ask her.....
