Welcome and updates:

Welcome to those who just joined the list. If you have any
questions or concerns, please let us know. We're looking
forward to seeing you in person at DLV 2009!

Our general mailings will come out every few months during
the remainder of 2008. Next mailing is planned for around
the first of December.

DLV 2009 dates are final:

DLV 2009 will he held on Monday, May 11 thru Saturday, May 16.

These dates may now be considered final for DLV 2009.

The ORG group has just voted to keep the proposed dates, for
better or for worse, as the dates for DLV 2009.

Thanks to all who provided input toward the date selection
process. We realize that no set of dates will be ideal for
all, and that compromises must be made. We do sincerely
believe that the process was carried out as fairly as is
possible, and that everybody who had something to say had
their opportunity to do so.

Please be assured that everyone's input was considered for
the date selection.

Things to come:

The next milestone will be toward the beginning of December when
we announce our suggested hotels for DLV 2009. Unlike other events,
Diva Las Vegas is not centered around one particular hotel. As a
DLV attendee, you are free to stay wherever you like. We do make
suggestions, for those who want to know where our people have
received good service, and for those who want to be near the
others.

Returnee re-registration will begin around the first of the year.
Most returnees will receive a special express re-registration
e-mail about that time which will allow minimum-click
registration for DLV 2009.

Registration for newcomers who are members of this mailing list
will begin around February 1, 2009.

Last call for photo removal:

September 30 is the deadline for photo removal requests.

Everyone who attended has a reasonable number of removal
requests for any photos in which they appear.

If you attended DLV 2008 and have not received the link to the
photo staging area, please write in and say so.

Pinkfest next month:

Pinkfest 2008 (another "vacation not convention:") will be held
in Chicago from Thursday, October 23 thru Sunday, October 26.

Like DLV, Pinkfest is held in a mixture of mainstream and
alternative venues, and has activities of all types. If you have
attended DLV, yes, you will see some familiar faces at Pinkfest.

We have a mailing list and associated Yahoo group for Pinkfest,
similar to those we have for DLV. The address of the Pinkfest
mailing list is:

pinkfest@pinkmyst.com

Like the DLV lists, the Pinkfest list is discreet and very
militantly spam-free.

For those who prefer a Yahoo interface, the corresponding
Yahoo group "Pinkfest" echoes the content of the Pinkfest
mailing list. The URL for the Yahoo group is:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pinkfest/

Please note that you must be a Yahoo member and logged in to
read and post to and from the Yahoo group.

The content is exactly the same between the Pinkfest mailing
list and the Pinkfest Yahoo group.
