The latest two mailings, in particular, give quite a bit of
information about the upcoming DLV 2009.

Latest numbers:

Validated headcount now stands at 98! This year we came very close
to breaking 100 before newcomer registration opened. This shows
an increase in sign-ups over last year at this time. Despite some
earlier predictions of a smaller turnout due to the economy and
the late timeframe, we're now becoming cautiously optimistic about
a near-record turnout this coming May!

Who will be number 100? :)

Newcomer registration opens:

Registration for newcomers who are members of this list is now
open. If you are reading this via e-mail, this includes you.

To register for DLV 2009 as a newcomer, visit the following URL:

One important note, and this is one of the most important notes
there will be. When you register as a newcomer, shortly after
you should receive a validation e-mail.

IN THE EVENT YOU RECEIVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AFTER YOU
REGISTER, SOMETHING IS WRONG AND WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT!

When you receive your validation e-mail, you will need to read
it (yes, really read it) and respond as indicated. If you
respond without reading it, it will be painfully obvious to
us that you have not read it, and you will receive a somewhat
polite note to really read it and respond as indicated.

When your registration is validated, you will receive your
own personal update URL, which you can use to update your
registration, request a Big Sister, sign up for roommate
matching, etc.

Please let us know if you have any difficulties or issues
with the registration process.

Alexis Park update:

Although many TG individuals and groups including DLV have been
well treated at the Alexis Park Hotel in the past, the rating
for the Alexis Park on the "big list" has been downgraded to
"Proceed with Caution" because of reports believed to be
reliable, but which are unsubstantiated as of this time,
regarding the attitude of management and staff toward TG
persons.

Any further information on this situation will be appreciated.

Updates will be posted as information becomes available.

Working schedule:

>From now until DLV 2009, most of our general mailings will include
our working schedule.

Please keep in mind that everything is still tentative and subject
to change as we firm up plans for DLV 2009.

In particular, some of the activities listed, particularly the
ones where there are multiple options, are place holders. There
are also a few obvious holes that will be filled in over the
next few weeks and months.

The venues and details of some of the activities are not solid
yet.

And, if you don't see your favorite activity listed, don't panic,
as some activities which are planned but have not been assigned
a timeslot do not appear on the schedule yet.

We have a very enthusiastic group of volunteers working on this
year's DLV. We thank all of them for their efforts toward
making this year's event a memorable occasion by all!
