Diva Las Vegas is two weeks away!
Plans are all set for a highly-successful and well-attended event.
Thanks to all for a prompt response to the activity sign-up
this year. The activity sign-up has been very smooth so far.

One important note, which is more and more important the closer
we get to DLV is that if any time you're expecting something,
to happen, such as a sign-up mailing, a response from one of our
volunteers, etc., and it doesn't happen, let us know, the sooner
the better. We're in our "crunch time" so the sooner we know about
an issue, the more effectively we can deal with it.

If you're not going to make it:
Everybody who is registered should now know with close to 100%
certainty whether or not they are indeed coming to DLV.
We hate to see anyone miss DLV, but if you're registered and
you know that you are not going to make it, please cancel. You
can do this either from the registration screen or via e-mail.
This gets you off the rolls and in many cases lets others move
up on waiting lists.
Besides, it gets rid of all of those e-mail nag-o-grams.

Activity sign-up status:
As of Saturday morning, the following sign-up activities are
full and in a waiting list state:

MAC Makeover Sessions, Monday and Thursday
Bare Escentuals Makeover Session, Wednesday
Milano's option, Eating Out Night, Wednesday
PF Chang option, Eating Out Night, Wednesday

Macy's Makeovers, all sessions, Friday
In addition, the DINNER which is concurrent with the Monday
evening Welcome Celebration is in a waiting list state, but
there will be no capacity limit for those attending the Happy
Hour and Welcome Celebration. Food service may or may not be
available to those not signed up for the dinner portion,
depending on capacity and staff workload.

One very important change for DLV 2011:
This year we will NOT be handing out paper copies of maps and
schedules.
THAT'S CORRECT! YOU WILL RECEIVE NO PRINTED MATTER
WHEN YOU CHECK IN TO DLV 2011.
If you wish a paper copy of the map and/or the schedule, please
print these out (distributed with the Large Final Mailing)
prior to leaving for DLV. Advance copies will be available
for those leaving home prior to the send date of the Large
Final Mailing.

For the most timely answers:
We're now at the peak of our "crunch time", when things happen
fast and heavy as we move down the final path to DLV 2011. We
realize that some of you still may have general or specific
questions regarding the event.
Here are our suggestions for the most timely answers to your
questions:
1. Check to see if your question is already covered in our
Frequently Asked Questions list on the web at:

The vast majority of the questions we receive in e-mail are
already answered in the FAQ list.
2. Ask your questions on the Diva Las Vegas Discussion Forum,
on the web at:

If you ask questions in public this way, you'll be bound to
receive answers far more quickly than if you submit them via
e-mail to the main DLV address.
If there's something of particular concern, maybe something
you're not comfortable asking in public, please e-mail us.
Please understand that the time it takes for us to respond
will increase as the big event approaches.

Arriving, making contact, checking in:
"Check-in", from a DLV perspective, is when you make contact
with a DLV check-in host or hostess and your name is marked
as "present" on our roster.
This is distinctly different from any hotel check-in function.
In most cases the hotel desk staff will not know what "Diva
Las Vegas" is, or how to contact the group. You will get the
DLV contact details in the Large Final Mailing as outlined
below.
At the time you check in with DLV, you'll also get your DLV
name badge, and you can express any questions or concerns
which you may have.
If you're new and do not know anyone, please ask the host or
hostess to have a volunteer introduce you around.
You can check in at any DLV activity which is marked "Check-in
available" on the final detailed schedule.
Although most of the checking-in will be done at the Sunday and
Monday activities, check-in will be available each day at the
main daily lunch and at several other designated activities.
Don't worry, if the first activity you want to do does not have
check-in available, you will still be able to participate as
long as your name appears on the DLV roster. You may just have
to wait to get your name badge and such.
If you have any difficulty finding any of our venues, or finding
the group when you have arrived at a venue, find a phone and
give one of our contact people a call. We will get you on the
right track.

Frank Marino's Divas Las Vegas VIP reserved tickets:

I have been able to procure a block of VIP group seating tickets at a
cost of $62 each, a savings of $25. To reserve your ticket(s) advance
payment is required. Advanced payment is available for credit card or
bank transfer payment through PayPal. Otherwise payment for tickets made
at DLV must be done no later than Monday evening April 4th and only cash
payments will be accepted at that time.
For those wishing to pay at DLV a written commitment email must be sent
to me no later than 5:00PM March 25. All unsold/unreserved tickets will
be release after that date and you will be on your own to purchase
tickets.
After March 25th all ticket commitments are final, no cancellations
refunds will be available. You will be expected to honor your commitment
by making full payment through PayPal by March 25th or in cash no later
than Monday, April 4th.

Deadlines and cut-offs:

Friday, March 25 (THIS COMING FRIDAY!) is the deadline for
golf payments and cancellations. See activity sign-up screen
for golf payment information. If you're no longer interested
in playing golf and are signed up to do so, please cancel. It
is expressly "un-cool" to cancel by default for simply failing
to make payment!
Friday, March 25 is also the deadline for in-advance Paypal
payments for our special reserved VIP seating group for Frank
Marino's Divas Las Vegas show (see above).

The last batch of activity sign-up mailings will be sent on
Monday, March 28. Those registering after Sunday, March 27
may not be able to fully participate in the DLV activities.

Activity sign-up will close Tuesday, March 29, at 9:59pm PDT.
After this date/time, activity sign-ups and changes must be
made directly with the activity coordinators, in person, at
DLV.

General registration for DLV 2011 will close Wednesday, March
30 at 9:59pm Pacific Daylight Time. This is a hard-stop cutoff.

On Thursday, March 31, we will begin holding all e-mail
correspondence which is not of an extremely urgent nature
until after the event has concluded. THIS WILL INCLUDE

Saturday, April 2, 6:00pm PDT is the deadline for cancellations
for the DLV 2011 Limousine Tour. Limo Tour payment may be made at
any DLV activity noted on the activity sign-up screen.

Monday, April 4, is the deadline for in-person payments for our
special reserved VIP seating group for Frank Marino's Divas Las
Vegas show (see above).

Tuesday, April 5, 12:00 noon PDT is the deadline for High Tea
payments. Payment may be made at any DLV activity noted on
the activity sign-up screen. If you're signed up for the High
Tea and no longer wish to attend, please cancel. Again, it is

payment!

Large Final Mailing:
On or about March 30, all registered attendees will receive what
we call the Large Final Mailing.
Please watch for this, and let us know if you do not receive
this by April 1 at the very latest.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This year we will NOT be passing out a hardcopy
map and schedule! Print these out and bring them with you.
The Large Final Mailing will include such things as:
. "Bare Minimum" section as a "quick-start" guide.
. Your personalized final confirmation and itinerary.
. Final detailed schedule, including activity locations.
. Behavior, dress and restroom guidelines.
. Daily hotel get-together information.
. Late notices.
. Check-in instructions.

Please be watching for this. It will arrive in your inbox in

Important announcements during the event:
Until this year, we've had no means of effectively passing on
any important notices during DLV. This year we will try using
the MyDLV "Chirp" mechanism to disseminate any important
updates or information which may come to light during the event.
Chirps of an important nature will come from the MyDLV user
name of "administrator" during DLV 2011.
We promise that we will use this only for important notices,
and we will not "spam" your cell phone with promotional or
trivial information. All chirps sent from "administrator"
during DLV will be of importance with two exceptions:
1. One single "test" chirp sent from "administrator" to all
during the afternoon of Saturday, April 2.
2. One chirp from "administrator" to all announcing a particular
reward, sent sometime during DLV 2011.

Most text-capable cell phones have the ability to receive (and
to send) MyDLV Chirps.
To get set up to receive any important announcement Chirps
during DLV, do the following:
1. Join MyDLV if you are not a member. You can do this here:

It's free and there is very little formality.
If you're already a MyDLV member and you know your user name
and password, go on to step 2 below.
If you're a MyDLV member and have forgotten your username or
password, just send a brief e-mail to: tech@geekbabe.com and
we will get you on the right track. Please do not re-register
for MyDLV. That's the hard way!
2. Find the correct address for sending text messages to your
cell phone. Hints for this for several cell phone carriers appear
on line here:

If your carrier is not listed, consult their web page or phone
their customer service.
3. Sign in to MyDLV.
4. Click on the "Manage Chirps" link on the main MyDLV screen.
5. Find the "Manage External Secondary Chirp Subscriptions"
section under category 3.
6. Using the "(select to add)" drop box under category 3,
select the user name "administrator", which appears about half
way down in the list, as it begins with a lower-case "a".
7. Enter your cell phone's address which you determined in step
2, above, in the "At secondary e-mail address" field. Be VERY
careful to type it correctly!
8. Click on the "Add external secondary e-mail Chirp Subscription"
button.

Sahara status:
The Sahara Hotel is not one of our suggested hotels for DLV
2011 but we're aware of some attendees planning to stay at the
Sahara.
Please be aware that the Sahara has announced that the will be
ceasing operations and closing to the public on May 15.
They have stated that they will honor reservations up to May 15.

Artisan rooms:
Although it's too late in the process to add any more suggested
hotels for DLV 2011, the Artisan, the venue which will host our
Welcome Celebration, has offered some very attractive room rates
to DLV attendees.
They are offering rooms to us at $45.00 weekday and 75.00 weekend.
