Registration notes:

Thanks to all who have registered early. Our headcount is now up to 44 as
of last Friday.

We have been having a few issues with registration that I would like to
point out and clarify.

Duplicate registrations. We've had a few obvious duplicate, and in one
case a triplicate registration. In all cases the people have entered a
slight variation on their e-mail address in order to get the system to
take it. I've gone thru these now and in all cases I've removed all but
the latest registrations for each person.

Please register, but please register only once. If you need to update or
change anything, it's very easy to do. If you've lost your confirmation
code, it's easy to retrieve, and it will come back to you in e-mail very
quickly. If you're not sure if you've registered, or if your registration
has been received, please write in. It's very easy to check.

To help the situation a bit, all new registrations and code recoveries
will have a one-click link to your own personal registration update page.

Golf:

The fourth annual Diva Las Vegas Open is scheduled for Friday, April 25.
This is open to all DLV participants. Boymode or girlmode, but girlmode
is preferred.

Again, some very nice prizes are planned.

We have a special mailing list for those who would like to play golf
with the group.

Discussion of all aspects of the golf outing will occur on this special
golf list.

Those who were on the DLVGOLF list last year will remain on it. Those
who have changed their e-mail address over the year will have to
resubscribe.

If you're interested in playing golf with the group on Friday, you may
join the DLVGOLF list by either replying to this mailing and saying to
the effect of "add me to the golf list" or by sending a message to
dlvgolf@geekbabe.com with the word SUBSCRIBE (case does not matter)
in either the subject or the first line of the message body.

The DLVGOLF list will start up very shortly.

Activity updates:

Clarification on the Jubilee tickets:

The original block of "preferred" booth seats for Jubilee turned out to
be unavailable. :(

However, we do have block of stadium-style seats on reservation. Details
on how to sign up for these will be announced when activity sign-up
begins.

The Glamour Boutique open house on Thursday afternoon has been confirmed.

A seminar on passing in public will be presented in conjunction with this.

No decision has been made yet on the possible shuttle van service. Keep
those cards and letters coming if you want to see this happen. If this
is to happen, it will be announced here as soon as plans are made.

SO activity:

Mindy and Diane need some feedback regarding the annual SO get-together.

All SO's, male and female, are invited to this.

For those of you who attended the SO luncheon last year, would you like
to see this repeated as a luncheon, or would you like more of a happy
hour type of thing?

For those SO's who have not attended, what would you prefer, luncheon,
happy hour, or other ideas?

like to see as SO activity.

This is right in line with what Sahara is now quoting on their web site.
Sahara is a couple bucks cheaper on weekdays, but more expensive on
weekends.

+cancel your reservations up to 48 hours prior to your arrival with a
+full refund. Some restrictions may apply during Holidays and

I think this is quite reasonable. Definitely cheaper than either the
Boardwalk or Imperial Palace last year, and cheaper than the Sahara
was last year for those who booked late.

That is a good point, and one people frequently miss with the services
such as Travelocity, which often has a hefty cancellation penalty.

Shipping clothing:

Glamour Boutique has invited DLV people to ship items to their shop in
Las Vegas rather than carry them on the airlines. If you're a bit shy
of having your baggage searched, this may be an option for you.

The Confirmation Number you get when you register will be your password

Room sharing:

DLV, just like any other event where people pay for hotel rooms, can be
more affordable if people share rooms. We will have a "roommate clearing
house" in this mailing list.

If you've already booked a room, and would like for somebody else to
stay with you and share the expense, or if you're looking for somebody
who has extra space, please write to this list (dlv@geekbabe.com) with
the word "Roommate" somewhere in the subject line. Please include the
following items in your e-mail:

1. Your name.

2. Your e-mail address.

3. What date you will be arriving and what date you will be departing.

4. Do you have a room to share, or do you need space in one.

5. Any annoying habits or traits you have. (Do you smoke, do you snore,
are you a very early riser, compulsive talker, late-nite MTV addict,
etc.)

6. Any additional notes or comments.

When we have roommate items, we will include them in a special ongoing
section toward the bottom of each DLV Announcement List mailing. Those
interested in sharing rooms can then contact each other by e-mail and
make arrangements.

Please remember, any roommate agreements are private arrangements
strictly between the people involved, and I or anybody else cannot be
responsible if things don't work out (etc. etc., yada-yada, you know the
drill).
