Welcome:
Welcome to those who just registered or joined the list. We're looking
forward to seeing you in person this May. Any questions or concerns
you have, please let us know.

Air fares are now affordably low. A quick check with the online services
shows real and bookable fares for the DLV dates in the $220ish range
from most major airports east of the Rockies with $180ish fares from the
Chicago area.
Southwest has a number of very attractive real and bookable fares in the
range of $39-59 each way from Tucson/Phoenix and $39-79 (each way) from
various points in California.
As for hotels, Sahara has risen to $49 during the weekdays, but remains
at $74 for the 7-8 weekend nights ... for now. Saturday, May 1 is now
$109 at the Sahara.
San Remo is showing $55 for Sunday and Monday, $42 for Tue-Wed-Thu, and
$109 for Fri-Sat.
Imperial Palace is still showing $49 for the weekdays and $99 for the
weekend.
Stratosphere is showing $54 for weekdays and $103 for weekend.
Prices are still low and availability is still good as of this day, but
history has shown that as we approach the one month point, prices rise
and hotels sell out, often with no notice.

We do have a few validations outstanding. When you register, you'll
receive an e-mail that asks you to do something. Please read it and
follow the instructions to validate your registration. It's very
simple. Your cooperation is appreciated.
We currently have attendees registered from all over the US and Canada,
New Zealand, United Kingdom, and The Netherlands. DLV 2004 will truly be
another international event!

Lake Mead Boat Cruise:
Each of our general mailings prior to DLV will feature one of our DLV
2004 activities. This week we feature Tuesday's Lake Mead cruise.
We will be taking a mid-day sightseeing cruise aboard the Desert
Princess, which is an authentic, three-level, Mississippi-style
paddlewheeler.
Diane has negotiated a discount rate of $16.15 per person, which is a
steal for this type of a cruise. See sign-up details below for payment
information.
Daytime on Lake Mead gives passengers a chance to enjoy the full beauty
and majesty of the area. Plenty of sunshine and refreshing breezes are
yours to enjoy while you take in the breathtaking sights.
Photographers will love the colorful landscapes and panoramic views.
Just a few of the awesome landmarks include Fortification Hill, a
clearly-defined, extinct volcano, The Arizona Paint Pots, a wonderland
of color and of course, the magnificent Hoover Dam.
The Desert Princess is the pride of the Lake Mead Cruises fleet. She is
spaciously equipped with 2 climate-controlled enclosed decks and an open
promenade deck just perfect for taking in the cool, clean air and the
wondrous sights.
The cruise is narrated and is expected to take about 1 1/2 hours. We'll
be back in Las Vegas with plenty of time to get ready for the Night Of
The Soiled Doves activities in the evening.
We will meet at the rendezvous point (location announced in the Large
Final Mailing) at 10:30am and carpool to Lake Mead Landing.
Dress: Casual, boymode or girlmode. The cruise operator recommends
layered clothing, since the lake may be breezy and lake breezes can be
cool compared to the air temperature in Las Vegas.
Price: $16.15 per person. Advance payment by April 21 is necessary to

"V" The Ultimate Variety Show update:

Ladies (and Gentlemen),
There is a change in the pricing of the production show "V" for Thursday
evening.
The attendees who have already paid and those who pre-pay prior to April
5th will receive the previously announced price of $40 for General
Admission, $50 for Main Floor, and $60 for VIP. Any payments I receive
after April 5th will be returned to you.
You may still pay for tickets during DLV through Wednesday evening, but
the price will be retail, at $10 higher per ticket, respectively.
The reason for the change is that the payment for discount seats is due
30 days prior to the show. For those who pre-pay, I'll have your
tickets at DLV. For those who want to pay at DLV, I'll be in contact
with the ticketing office during DLV, and will keep you informed on seat
and section availability.
I know it's a pain to do the hoop-jumping of pre-pay, but policy is just
that, policy. The cost of a $0.37 stamp versus a $10 increase is still
a pretty good deal, since you still might get the same seat for the
show. :)

Yes, at least two makeover options. One of the local merchants has a very
good makeup artist on staff, plus there will be at least one independent
artist offering a discounted rate to DLV attendees. Details will appear
in the Discounts And Promotions section of the Large Final Mailing.

Air tour update:
It turns out that the air tours may indeed happen this year, but we
won't know for sure until right before DLV. If this is to happen, it
will be an informal activity, and not on the sign-up list. Look for
announcements just prior to DLV.
