Welcome everybody:

Welcome to those who just joined the list! Hope to see you next
April! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

There was no mailing in August. Until around the first of the
year, mailings will go out every 2-3 months as needed. The next
planned mailing will be shortly after the first of December when
our suggested hotels will be announced.

See "Things To Come" below for significant happenings.

Looking forward:

Although the preliminary schedule will not be published until around
the first of the year, plans are in progress, and we're looking at
a well-rounded schedule consisting of a good mix of proven favorites,
requested and suggested activities, and the new and different.

Returning for 2008 will be the English High Tea, Ballroom Dance
Instruction, Night Of The Soiled Doves (with a new "twist" this
coming year), Diva Las Vegas Invitational Golf (open to all golfers
of all skill levels), Limo Tour, Eating Out Night, and of course
our daytime favorite, Lunch With (or without) Ginger. :)

As of this time we're looking at a minimum of three vendor open
house sessions. Yes, they want our business!

New for 2008 will be such things as Rock Star Karaoke, a side trip
to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a Comportment Workshop, presented by
a local studio, and a tour of the "Neon Boneyard!"

Pinkfest:

Still time to get in on Pinkfest, but you will need to act now!

This is Pinkfest, scheduled next month, October 4-7, 2008.

Pinkfest is smaller than DLV, and in a different setting, but it
is still a lot of fun. Yes, if you've attended DLV, you will see
some familiar faces at Pinkfest!

We have a mailing list for Pinkfest. To join it, just send a brief
e-mail to pinkfest@pinkmyst.com and state that you wish to join the
Pinkfest mailing list. The list is discreet and militantly spam-free.

The Pinkfest list is now mirrored in a Yahoo group, for those of
you who prefer the Yahoo Groups interface.

Things to come:

Shortly after the first of December we will announce our suggested
hotels for DLV 2008. There's no requirement that you stay in any
particular hotel. You're on your own to stay where you like. We
make these suggestions for those who want to know where others in
our group will be staying and where others have reported good
service during DLVs in past years.

Ride sharing (at the riders' own risk, of course) will be coordinated
for those staying in our suggested hotels.

Shortly after the first of the year, re-registration will open for
returnees. Most of you who attended last between 2002 and 2007 will
receive an express re-registration link via e-mail. Just a few clicks
and you're on your way!

Pre-registration for those on this mailing list will begin on or
around February 1. There is no charge to register. (Unlike many
other events, you don't pay for what you don't want to do.)

General registration for DLV 2008 will open on or around March
first.

Activity sign-up will begin on or around April 1. This is where you
tell us which of the optional activities you want to do.

About a week before DLV there will be a very important happening,
which is, unfortunately, often overlooked, and sometimes discounted.

This is what we call the Large Final Mailing.

At most other TG events, when you check in, you will receive a whole
pile of papers, such as a schedule, maps, promotional items, etc. This
does not happen at DLV. All of this will come to you in the Large
Final Mailing, and you can print this out and take it with you.

And of course, the big event itself starts April 21!
