Only three weeks away from DLV and everybody is excited!

Welcome to those who just joined the list. If you have any
questions or concerns, please let us know.

Yes, you can still get in on DLV 2010. If you haven't
registered yet, please see "What you need to do" below.

The big thing is not to procrastinate! Another thing is that
if you're confused about something or want more information,
ask, and the sooner the better.

If you need some special attention, perhaps to get in touch
with an activity coordinator, or need some special attention
in your sign-ups, please say so now. Please don't wait until
"crunch time" for anything out of the ordinary.

Late housekeeping note: Some system errors have occured when
some of you attempted to update either your SO's name or the
"SO attending" box on your registration. We're looking into
the errors.

If you need to have your SO's name updated, or the "SO
attending" and have difficulty, please let us know and we
will do a manual update for you.

Those who have signed up for the Makeover Tips With Stacey,
either session, please be sure to read the schedule notes
below.

Activity sign-up:

Everyone who registered prior to last Monday, March 22,
should have received their special activity sign-up e-mail.

IN THE EVENT YOU REGISTERED PRIOR TO MARCH 22
AND DID NOT RECEIVE THIS, SOMETHING IS WRONG
AND WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT!

Should this be the case for you, send a brief e-mail to
dlv@geekbabe.com (or just reply to this mailing) and we
will check things out for you.

Those who registered on March 22 or later will receive
their activity sign-up mailings this coming Monday.

As of this time, almost half of the activity sign-ups are
in. Thanks to all who made these promptly.

If you haven't yet made your activity selections yet, please
do so ASAP. Some of these are filling fast!

One important note: Please fill visit the activity sign-up
screen even if you do not wish to participate in any of
the optional activities. If you really don't want to do
any of them, just go directly to the bottom of the screen
and click the "Submit" button. This reconfirms your intent
to attend DLV.

Yes, it's perfectly fine if all you want to do is "drink,
dress, and hang around", but we ask you to please show us
a sign of life, indicating that you're still planning to
be with us in April. Your cooperation is appreciated.

What you need to do:

Yes, you can still get in on DLV 2010, but you will want to
get things going now without any delay.

Here's what you have to do:

1. Read the web site carefully.

Be sure you know what you're signing up for. A major issue
and misunderstanding is to assume that DLV is similar to
the many other TG events that are out there. This is not
the case!

2. Register for Diva Las Vegas 2010.

Registration is free and easy.

It's also a requirement to participate in DLV. Registration
is not optional, sorry.

Please note that you must be registered and validated by
Sunday, March 28, in order to get in on the next round of
activity sign-up which begins Monday, March 29.

3. Make your travel and lodging arrangements.

Do not procrastinate on this, as prices will rise and
options will be fewer the closer you get to DLV!

You may stay wherever you wish, however, there are some
advantages to staying in our suggested hotels, other than
the obvious one of being close to other DLVers.

For DLV 2010 each of our suggested hotels will have an
on-site host or hostess who will act as a resource person.

An informal daily get-together, in addition to the main
scheduled activities, is planned at each of our suggested
hotels. Information on these will be given to those who
indicate they will be staying in these hotels.

One other note is that if you will be requiring local
transportation to our activities, we strongly suggest
that you stay in one of our suggested hotels and use
the daily get-togethers to coordinate the sharing of
rides.

You can expect your activity sign-up e-mail to come to you
within 5 days after you register. Please click on the link
and sign up for your optional activities as soon as you can.

Schedule updates and notes:

The times for Makeover Tips With Stacey, sessions 1 and 2,
on Monday and Tuesday of DLV week respectively, have been
adjusted to begin at 9:30am. Please disregard any previously
published or announced times. Please cancel your sign-up for
this activity if the new time is not acceptable to you.

Another note on the Makeover Tips. Both of these sessions
filled up quite quickly.

Due to the high demand, those of you who have signed up for
both sessions have had their sign-ups adjusted to only the
FIRST session signed up in which you will fit without going
on the waiting list. Please re-check your sign-up, and if you
are not signed up for the session you most want to attend,
please change your selection to the one you would most like
to attend.

There was a typo reported on the activity screen regarding
the Local Dinner at Firefly on Thursday of DLV week. The
correct date and time of this activity will be Thursday,
April 22, at 7:00pm. Happy Hour at 6:00pm.

Accidentally omitted from the original sign-up screen was
a note that there will be significant public exposure at
the Flamingo Buffet Dinner on Sunday. If you are a beginner
or if you're uneasy in mainstream public and you signed up
for this, please update your screen and make another
selection. The McMullans Irish Pub option is the "safest"
option for this timeslot.

Attention Hotmail users:

It's come to our attention that a few of our mailing list
members who use Hotmail have been victims of a compromise
which allows others to send out e-mail, in particular porn
site and drug-related spam, without the authorized user
being aware that this is happening.

We suggest that all Hotmail users (and everyone, actually)
be sure that your anti-virus, anti-spyware, and other
anti-ratware programs are up to date and that you are using
a secure non-obvious password for your Hotmail account.

In the one case we examined in some depth, the fix was to
change the Hotmail password, using a different known-clean
PC to make the change, and having the user's normal machine
carefully inspected for compromises.
