August updates:

First of all, welcome to those who just registered or just joined our
mailing list. We look forward to seeing you in late September.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Just reply
to any of these mailings.

We are just under two months out from the big event! Everybody is
getting excited about it and ready to go.

Big thanks go our to our volunteers who have done a bang-up job this
year in putting together an exciting schedule of activities!

If you want to attend and have not registered, please see the "What
You Need To Do" item in this mailing.

Please accept our apology for not including a copy of our working
schedule in this mailing. There are still a few significant uncertain
items that need to be finalized before a preliminary schedule can be
published. Please see "Schedule Highlights" below.

Activity Sign-up starts September 1:

Most of the activities on our schedule are "No sign-up, just show up" in
nature, meaning the only thing you need to do to participate is to show
up at the proper time and place.

Some of the activities, however, will need a sign-up, a headcount, or
maybe something more formal such as a reservation, ticket purchase,
etc.

We take care of these things at Activity Sign-Up time.

On or about September 1, everyone who is registered for DLV will receive
a link to their own personal Activity Sign-Up screen. This will let you
tell us which of the many optional activities that you want to do.

Please keep an eye on those inboxes and watch for this around September 1.

Major happening on Wednesday evening:

We have a major addition to our schedule of activities to announce!

The evening of Wednesday, October 2 will be centered around a new
Country-Theme activity, yet to be officially named, which will happen at
a popular local club.

This will be sponsored in cooperation with a local group.

This will include such things as a live band or deejay (uncertain as of
this writing) and a Cowgirl Costume contest.

There will be no cover charge. Western dress will be optional.

Reasonably-priced food (bar type menu) and beverages will be available.

We know that several locals and out of towners will be joining us
specifically for this activity!

Details are still being worked out and will be announced prior to
Activity Sign-Up time.

Schedule Highlights:

Some of you may be thinking that we are holding off on publishing
schedules because we don't have enough activities yet. For this year,
it is quite the opposite. We have a few places where we have too many
proposed and planned activities, and some time crunches, and we need to
make some difficult decisions in a couple of cases as to what activities
to keep and which to push off until next year.

Here's a list of the high spots on this year's calendar:

On Sunday, we'll have dinner at a reasonably-priced New American
restaurant in an easy walking distance from the Flamingo and Linq,
followed by a Get To Know You Mixer.
. . . . .

Monday will feature a visit to the Las Vegas Showgirl Museum, plus in
the evening we will have our big Welcome Meet And Greet, including
dinner (full menu, regular prices, separate checks available) and plenty
of social time.
. . . . .

Tuesday morning will feature Pickleball.

Tuesday afternoon and evening will be Downtown Day, starting off with a
light lunch and a tour of the Mob Museum followed by exploring the
Fremont Street Experience. Happy Hour and dining options will be
available. After dinner we'll have a get-together at one of the popular
night spots.
. . . . .

Golf (regular outdoor live golf) will happen on Wednesday morning.

For those who would rather play Mini-Golf, Monster Mini Golf will
also happen Wednesday morning.

We will have a trip to the Escapology Escape Center on Wednesday
afternoon.

Wednesday evening, of course, will be centered around the Country
theme activity discussed above.
. . . . .

Topgolf (stadium type driving range), including lunch, will happen on
Thursday morning.

The Pool Party (swimming and sunbathing, not billiards) will happen on
Thursday afternoon.

Our big Closing Celebration will happen on Thursday evening (full menu,
regular prices) followed by our Limousine Tour.
. . . . .

Highlights for Friday (other items to be added) include a Shopping
tour and The Mentalist (magic show).

What you need to do:

If you would like to participate in Diva Las Vegas 2024 and have not
already registered, the first thing you need to do is register.

You can register on line here:

https://divalas.vegas/cgi-bin/dlv/aip.cgi

There is no charge to register and it takes just a few minutes.

After you register you will receive a link to your personal Attendee
Information Portal. This provides several functions to help you on
your trip to Diva Las Vegas.
. . . . .

Those of you who are traveling from out of town will need to make your
lodging arrangements.

This year we are suggesting The Flamingo and The Linq as our primary
hotels. These are both large well-established casino-hotels right on
the center of the Las Vegas Strip.

You can reserve your room at Flaming or Linq (as well as several other
nearby properties) on line here:

https://www.caesars.com/book/

For those of you on a budget, there are three decent lower-priced hotels
in the immediate vicinity.

The Casino Royale Best Western is two doors north of the Linq on the
Strip. The Ellis Island and the Tuscany are about 1/3 of a mile east of
the Strip and an easy walk to the center of the action. Any of the
usual travel sites can book these three hotels for you.
. . . . .

Once you are registered and have your lodging booked, the next big step
is to sign up for optional activities. Activity Sign-up is discussed
above.
. . . . .

Once you get to Las Vegas, all you need to do is to show up at one of
our activities.

You can check in with the group at any activity marked Check In
Available on the final schedule. Name tags will be available at any
activity marked "Name Tags Available" on the final schedule.

In addition, we will have special On-Site Check-in at designated times
at the Flamingo hotel during the first few days.
