I'll post this in this thread too ... Parking situation at the Flamingo. Please read carefully.
This is current for the major CET properties on the east side of the Strip (Harrah's, Linq, Flamingo) as of last August, when I stayed at one of them.
The good news is that the first hour of parking is always free, timed to the minute, from ticket issued to settlement, with no tolerance.
The bad news is that hotel guest parking for non-rated guests is no longer free. It's $18 per day.
If you are a rated player at any CET property (Las Vegas or other locations) at the Platinum level or higher, parking is free and the player's card acts as the "get out of jail free" card at settlement.
One item that is not well known is that if you are an active US servicemember or a veteran in good standing, you can get a special "Salute" players card which includes all Platinum benefits and a few others. You can apply for this at any Total Rewards desk and you will need legal ID and proof of service. It only takes a few minutes.
Now there are some work-arounds.
The easiest is to simply "borrow" or "find" a valid player's card at the Platinum or higher level. Yes, this is cheating, but it works.
A few of the people at the event I attended found free parking in the area.
The closest is Casino Royale, which is one door north of Harrah's, three doors north of Flamingo. They have a smaller parking garage kind of shoehorned between Harrah's and Venetian. It's tricky to get to, and involves a rat-maze of alleys behind and between Harrah's and Venetian. As of August it was drive right in, drive right out, no validation, no formality.
If you don't mind walking a bit more, parking is free at Venetian, and the garage is easier to find and much larger than that of Casino Royale. This is two doors north of Harrah's and four doors north (about 1/2 mile) of Flamingo.
