Hi hon -
I didn't make it to DLV 2004 but am planning on 2005 -
I like the idea of a 'preferred or recommended' hotel -
Should be safe, cheap, friendly, accessible ..
A smaller property where a group of T* girls would have an obvious
economic impact to the management.
I've only stayed at three places in Las Vegas, but I think the Sahara
fits the bill nicely...
Cheap rooms in the $40 to $100 range, even cheaper if you sign up for
their players card and spend a few bucks at the machines or tables..
On the 'strip', but not right in the middle of it. I usually rent a car
at the airport and it's easy to get to most anywhere from the Sahara,
but if you're farther south in the MGM-Caesars-Bally area it's a real
pain to quickly get in/out of a property. Sahara is easy access off LV
Blvd. or the 'back way' on Paradise. I also did one Vegas trip using
only the CAT buses and Sahara is on 2 bus lines
Monorail terminal connected to the hotel. (is it running yet? if not,
certainly will be by next spring!)
Very friendly staff - I've never had a problem with T* issues... (Not so
important to me nowadays as I'm 'out' 24/7)
Clean rooms, fast elevators...
Downside: IMO, the buffet is not as good as it used to be. The coffee
shop is fine.
Like everything else in Vegas, it's about a mile from your room to the
car park (or it seems like it), so you keep a pair of heels in the car
and wear flats for the traverse...
Also, I've found the reviews at www.cheapovegas.com to be pretty
accurate, and their hotel comparator is at
http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_casino_chart.php?sort=price&limit=strip
Have Fun and Stay Pretty!
