Friday Fun

Postby Bev » Wed Feb 24, 2016 12:12 pm

Ok, you've been screaming for some new activities, especially for Friday morning. So here is one for you...
Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah Tour. This is a 2-3 hour tour of his 52 acre estate just 4 miles from the strip. Cost of the tour is $45/ $42 seniors. There may be discount tickets or coupons available.
Once you enter through the gilded gates, you will forget you are in Las Vegas. Casa de Shenandoah is 52 lush acres of landscaping, natural artesian ponds and waterfalls. You will see freely roaming peacocks, swans, geese and a variety of exotic birds.
The first stop is the Museum where visitors will see Wayne Newton’s extensive car collection, board his private jet and tour his vast memorabilia collection including gifts from close friends Frank Sinatra, Jack Benny, Nat King Cole, and Elvis Presley.
Guests will then head to the equine area where they will see Wayne Newton’s champion Arabian horses. Various showcases include horses swimming in our state-of-the-art equine swimming pool and/or a horse demonstration.
Visit the Exotic Animal Exhibit, including Penguin Island, Monkey Manor, Wallaby World and many more animal habitats. Come meet all of the animals that are a part of Wayne’s family.
Tour the Mansion, Wayne’s home that he personally designed, built, and completed in 1976. Sounds great doesn't it!
We can meet for Katie's Koffee Korner at 8:00, drive/car pool to the tour and be done in time for Lunch with "??".
Haven't had enough fun yet? Well then after lunch let's head over to the Hollywood Cars Museum located just a mile off the strip for a 1-2 hour tour of cars from TV and movies that we have all seen.
The 30,000-Sq.-Ft. Hollywood Cars Museum includes opportunities for us to see the workshop of “Hollywood Jay,” whose legendary creations include cars for “RoboCop,” “Back To The Future,” “The Flintstones,” a bunkbed hot rod and a 40-foot pink hot tub convertible limo, which was profiled on “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous!” The best car museum in Las Vegas! Cost is $15. again, discount coupons may be available.
A day of fun and we will be done by mid-afternoon, leaving plenty of time to get ready for an evening of dining and more fun.
How does that sound? And anyone can feel free to join us for both or either one of these fun outings.

We have a terrific sign up for both Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah estate tour Friday morning at 9:00 and the Hollywood Car Museum Friday afternoon at 1:30 with over 20 attendees at both. Thank you for signing up. We can meet Friday morning at Flamingo at Katie Koffee Korner at 8:00 and leave for the estate at 8:45. Or you can meet us there if you prefer.
We will need drivers from Flamingo so let me know if you can take a few passengers along. Otherwise there can be some cab sharing too.

Great News!

Postby Bev » Mon Mar 21, 2016 7:17 pm

Great news regarding these two activities..
I talked to the tour manager at Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah and she is really excited about our group coming and is rolling out the red carpet for us. Our cost for the 3 hour Platinum tour is $41.65/$37.48 senior discount. We have a group rate set up so everyone can call their payment in advance. That way we don't have to collect money in advance from everyone or have to stand in line and pay when we arrive there. I think that's a great deal.
And if we have at least 15 people they will pick us up at Flamingo and transport us both ways FREE OF CHARGE! So no carpooling needed. We have 21 signed up presently so I think we should be able to do this. Wouldn't that be nice. Let me know if you are interested in the shuttle bus ride.
So if you have signed up please call the following number right away and pay for the tour. Just mention the group Diva Las Vegas and the date of April 1, 9:00am tour.
Casa de Shenandoah 702-7768462

I also talked the manager at Hollywood Car Museum and told him about our group. He is excited about us coming. He immediately pointed out that they have a 40' pink limo that would be great to have us all get around it for a group photo. Sounds like this is going to be a fun activity as well. And they are giving our group a $5 discount on admission as well. So admission cost will be only $10 and can be paid at the door!

Are we able to sit inside the pink limo for the photograph?
