Hi. I'm thinking of coming to DLV for the 1st time as Nancy..at times
I'll revert to my boy self as Walt since this is my first time at a TG
event lasting all day & evening for several days! Spending lots of time
on DLV website learning about it. Question: do any or some Senior CDers
(late 60s-early70s) attend DLV ? I'm old but not much experienced
going out in public...not sure I'll fit in.

Our average reported age has been in the 50s quite consistently for many years. We've had countless attendees in the 60-70-ish range over the past several years.

Yes, there will be many others in your age range present.

Hi Nancy! Welcome to DLV2013. You are in for a really special week. I think once you get started that Walt will come out less then you think. DLV is so much fun with so many choices for activities. You are going to have a hard time deciding what to do, so let me offer some advice.
First, bring comfortable shoes! We all love our heels and want to look sexy all the time, but the feet really take a beating. By the end of the week you won't want to wear shoes at all. So find some really comfortable shoes for day wear and leave the heels for nighttime.
Secondly, coming from someone who enjoys the senior citizen rates, schedule yourself some downtime during the day. I have discovered that taking a few hours off in the afternoon for a nap, or at least sitting down and putting my feet up, is a must. These young kids like to go hard into the late night and I have foolishly tried to keep up but can't do it everyday.
I look forward to meeting you and watching the smile keep growing on your face as the week progresses. If you have any questions feel free to contact me as well.
Hey, Annie... maybe we should have an organized afternoon nap as one of the new activities each day. I will gladly serve as hostess! We could call it "breaking with Bev". BYOP (bring your own pillow)

One thing I might suggest, Nancy, is to be sure to attend one of the Newcomer Open House sessions, which will be held Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of DLV week.

You can read about these here:
