What is the Art Tour?

Postby Sarah Doepner » Sat Mar 31, 2012 1:03 pm

The Art Tour is an opportunity to enjoy classic art on display at the Bellagio Museum of Fine Arts. This year the exhibit is "Claude Monet: Impression of Light". 20 paintings from throughout his career, along with several others by contemporaries will be on display. Even those of us will little background in art (including me) will recognize some of these paintings. If you have yet to go to a gallery to view fine art, this is a golden opportunity.

This is a main stream venue and dress is suggested to be comfortable and business to casual, boy or girl mode. Overly dressy, fetish and clubwear will be discouraged as our intent is to enjoy the art, not become too much of a distraction for the others who are there to experience the gallery.

The gallery isn't large, but is located in the middle of the casino and hotel complex and will require a few minutes walk from the parking lot or the main entrance if you arrive by cab. Comfortable shoes may be a good idea. For those who wish, we can meet by the Conservatory and leave for the gallery at the start time for the activity. The Bellagio has alway been a friendly place and I am unaware of issues during any of the 4 or 5 art tours we have done here over the years. Admission is $15, $12 if you are over 65 and $8 if you are a Nevada resident. Please consider this invite to join us in an activity that is a chance for calm in an otherwise busy week.
