Spotlight closes

To anyone interested, the Spotlight Lounge in Commercial Center closed
it's doors last week after a 14 year run. It was a very popular
watering hole and had a large clientele. Dollar Hamms glasses and
$2.oo well drinks - not skimpy either - made a regular out of me. I had
made quite a few acquaintances there and was getting along famously, for
the most part, sort of well, you know, making a name for myself; keeping
in mind of course that I've only been out for two short years. Prior to
Diva '09 I rarely got out more than two or three times a year, and that
in male mode only. I've only been dressing for the last two years.
It's hard to believe that I could have come out enfemme at my age - 47 -
and gotten as far as I have. I think Spotlight had a rent problem that
forced them under. Oh well, there's still plenty of other good places

That's too bad! I liked the place even though I was never even close to being a regular.

My guess is that the recession plus the proximity of the recently-opened Crewsn were factors here.
