I would prefer the event be held in March or April, to bad that other
big event has to affect hotel rates so much. My job is unflexable and
vacation time needs to be planned way in advance. It would be nice if we
could keep it at one particular week of the year, like the first,
second, third or last full week of a particular month, and stick to it.
Not being a big fan of being in 85+ temps either with a wig on too,
however time spent outside is somewhat limited. Marcia.

They are not set in stone, but will be if no motions to reschedule
carry. If this happens, this will be shortly after the Call For
Comments expires in about a week.

The nature of the various spring goings-on make it impractical
to fix a week on the calendar. This is the case not only with
DLV but with other annual events that occur in Las Vegas and
elsewhere.

They really have to be planned on a year-by-year basis when
enough of the factors are known to make a decision.

There was a time several years ago when I couldn't make it to several
DLV's because of school commitments (i.e final exams), and it just
broke my heart. I felt so depressed and awful because I knew I'd be
missing out on all the fun. Afterwards, when I started teaching
there was a DLV I couldn't make due to substitute scheduling
conflict. Again, I was disappointed but managed to move on. Now that
I'm retired (at least for this year), I have nothing to interfere
with my going to Las Vegas whatever date is finalized. What I learned
from those times I missed a DLV, and what I want to share with my
fellow ladies who find they won't be able to attend next year, or on
any other future DLV date, is this - this too shall pass and there
will always be a next year!
