Last night A&E had a special with the cast of "Storage Wars" (a very
entertaining auction show, if you've never seen it).

It was filmed inside the casino area of the Sahara. It was so sad seeing
it all dark and abandoned except for the poker table the cast was
sitting around while being interviewed.

So very sad...

It made it even sadder for me, as I worked there from 1981-1989 and it was only 1 of 4 places in town, at one time, that offered the card game called Pan.

It is sad! Sahara was one of the classic casinos.

Unfortunately it will probably remain as it is, as a monument to the Great Recession, as does the former Stardust site. :(

We can only hope that someone will buy it and revamp it, as was done with the Plaza downtown, which has recently reopened.
