Boy Cat,
You sure hit the nail on the head with this one. Thanks for expressing
it so intelligently and clearly. I had been wanting to say something to
the same effect. I even had a rough draft going, but I was waiting to
get some of my facts straight. I am glad you said what you said because
I was leaning toward the same opinion that the core group doesn't
necessarily express the opinion of the majority. I firmly believe that
it is this core group that votes and sets the dates for DLV to coincide
with the tech convention. This is clearly evident because the 15 or so
people (out of the hundreds in the DLV group) voted for the date that is
selected? I'm almost certain that you are also correct in stating that
the majority of participants (I'm not refering the the 15 in the core
grop) really don't get involved in voting. I feel this is due to one
particular personal reason. After all, I believe a lot of our people
still keep their cross dressing a big secret from their spouses and
family. So they're not going to be fully involved in voting or keeping
up with the discussion group. You offer some great suggestions
especailly about the voting procedure and date issue. I've decided not
to attend DLV this year; only because the date selected was not
convenient for me. Hopefully, I'll see you and the rest of the gang at
DLV 05. Until then I hope we can stay in touch.
