What a day...it started out with Tony going out to do air tours, and having to cancel because the plane sprung a fuel leak. This, of course, also means that we have no ride home from Vegas.
Dinner at Artisan was good, definitely the only good thing that will happen today.
What can I say about karaoke at the Beauty Bar? My conversation with the DJ went something like this...
"You can play CDGs, right?"
"CDGs? What's that?"
"Karaoke disks."
"Nope."
"Can you play audio CDs?"
"No, we don't have a CD player at all."
Unfortunately, this is pretty common in the karaoke business, which is why I tried to get this worked out in advance. People go out and buy a bunch of pirated MP3Gs on a hard disk, and call it a karaoke show. Tony wasn't even sure if it was real karaoke, or if they were just playing songs for lip synch or something, but we didn't stick around to find out. We hopped into a taxi with a crazy Vietnamese driver who kept wanting to find hookers for us (even after Tony told him that we were married), and returned to the hotel. I give up.
Hopefully karaoke at Crews'n tomorrow night will be better, although it's possible that it will be the same thing. I still have hopes for the talent show Wednesday.
