I would second the recommendation of Pinkfest. Only two months away!

It's smaller than DLV, and more informal, but the principle is the same, a vacation and not a convention and lots of good times! This year will be the 12th. Pinkfest.

I actually prefer Pinkfest when I don't have a vehicle. It's very easy to get around Chicago without one, and the El system, city bus lines, taxi services, etc. are quite "safe", even for beginners.

Jame,

I hope you can make it and if you have questions let me know! One thing
that's fun about Chicago is never knowing what the weather is going to
be until close to the time we have planned.

I've actually enjoyed the almost cold by my Southern standards a few
times, once including snow showers! Last year I really got to understand
the term "Windy City" one particular afternoon as countless umbrellas
collapsed all around me, including my own! Then the weather cleared up
and it was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, perfect.....but no
guarantees about the weather except whatever it won't be like Las Vegas!

I also like the varied, and for me much different than where I live,
Chicago food offerings which are countless in ethnic variety and style.

I understand why you are underminding the effort to have a mini DLV in October, because of Pinkfest. Of course, if any of you can't afford Chicago, Las Vegas isn't going away. I, as well as others that live here, would be glad to have a mini DLV.

I was planning to attend Amys Halloween party on Saturday 10/27 and stay for a week. Be there for Halloween.
Any one else going to Las Vegas at that time. Would like some company. Thought about checking some sites for DLV 2013 while I am there.

Hope to a see a number of DLV ladies at Amy's Halloween party at Just You. Can we purchase ahead of time? Should we purchase ahead of time.

Hello Bea. Read your email, let's meet at her party and do some things while we are in town. Planning on seeing Jersey Boys this time around. Any interest? Still working on the costume but I'll work it out. Anybody else visiting that week?
