I live in Arizona, and I wear black business suits in the summer.
You just have to get used to it.

Oh, and it helps not to be a p***cake.

Yeah, uh, I remember that "black business suit" you wore to the
first NSD! :)

Yvonne,

You ask how girls from AZ fight the heat in the summer. We leave AZ and
go to San Diego, California. LOL In all seriousness, I might wait until
it is late or just stay home dressed. Last thing I need is to pass out
while en femme in public.

I really should have overridden Tony on removing the coroner shirt. I
never knew it was bleeding through because it was in the back...you have
to tell me these things earlier!

That reminds me of a girl who wore a semi-opaque dress to a Baptist
church. Underneath the dress, she had on some panties that said
"MOODBUSTER" on the back, and her husband didn't bother to tell that
they showed. I wasn't there, but I was told that it was an interesting
service.

Hi Lorraine!

Where I'm at, it gets into the high 90s but not as hot as you
folks that goes into high 100s. Some still go out femme in
the summer heat, but those that do, have a skinnier, more
femme body shape.

They also add a thick layer of sunblock, and wear a good brand
of effective sunglasses.

The standard wear is a tank top, very short shorts and sandals.

For me, you can add: the larger arms and shoulders, fake boobs,
not having shaved legs, arms, and arm pits, lack of hips,
lack of painted nails, and lack of a flat mid drift ....

.. that makes that wear quite impossible to pass in public.

Did I forget make-up that doesn't melt off when sweating under
the heat?....or for those that have a woman's/girl's facial features
go out without make-up....that doesn't include me either.

When you said you folks go to San Diego, there were two songs
that popped into my head... "Are You Going To San Franciso", and
"Do You Know The Way to San Jose". :-) this also shows my
age....

I fully understand how hot under the collar it can get when we
wear the layers of foundation and be in the sun with temps over
100. I've been out femme in LV when it was 118 in the summer.
I was wearing a 3/4 sleeve tee shirt, jeans, sandals, sun glasses,
and the layers stuff underneath the shirt and shorts.

Its like opening a oven door when broiling a steak when I opened the
casino door to go outside. Since I was walking around outside and sight
seeing the vegas strip, it wasn't as bad as I thought for I could at
anytime cool down by walking inside any casino. The worst was being in
a car thats been sitting in the sun in the parking lot.

Besides worrying about heat exhaustion, I needed a gallon deodorant
or perfume, and having a bottle of water.

Perspiration wasn't a problem, for any wetness or sweat dried instantly
in that heat, leaving the skin with a thin layer of salt crystals.

I made the mistake of drinking a large margarita that had alot of tequila
when I was very thirsty. Got drunk really fast.

Its a good thing that DLV activities are indoors in the late
afternoon or at night most of the time when the temp drops down to a
cooler temp.

None of the dates for 09 are good for everyone.

I feel that we should be sensitive to those who have been major
organizers that plan many of DLV's activities. They are still the
ones that plan many of the successful DLV events every year. If they
cannot make DLV, then those events will NOT happen.

I don't see many or anyone else eagerly and willingly volunteering to
taking on some of their events in the case that the senior organizers
cannot make DLV. Not only volunteering and planning it, but making sure
by actually attending DLV next year, and not cancelling out at the last
minute. So more so, we should plan the dates that those organizers can
attend at least some of those days.

Hi everyone,

Well the current dates are the worst for me and I was hoping to take a
more active role next year. DLV 2008 was my first and I LOVED it. But
the current dates conflict with a conference that I must attend for my
company (yeah, I know I shouldn't let work interfere with fun but this
one is a "must do").

However, I can see where every other possibility has some major
drawbacks so I guess I will just have to miss DLV 2009 and hope for
better dates the next year. I will definitely miss being with you all
but hope to see many of you at SCC in Atlanta in about a month.

Hugs,

Nicole
