Totally agree with you Sara. I'm sure we've been invited to, or
accompanied someone else to an event or party hosted by someone we do
not know. What is the procedure? You either keep asking someone and
you'll eventually get directed to the host or hostess at which time you
can introduce yourself and exchange greetings. I think you are correct
in assessing the two factors that prevent newbies from finding the group
or the hostess of the event.
