Densie was a good friend of mine, as she was with many DLVers. I'm really in kind of a state of shock here, and I don't really know what to say, but I'll try ...
I just spoke to Tony, her surviving husband, on the phone. He and the family are doing as well as can be expected, considering the circumstances.
The family is now in the process of making the final arrangements. There will be a suggested memorial, but that has not been set as of this time. When this has been settled upon, we'll get it posted here.
If anyone wishes to get in contact with Tony and family, e-mail me personally (
annie@geekbabe.com) and we'll do an exchange of e-mail addresses.
If anyone is unsure who Denise (Densie) is, this photo should be viewable by all:

Densie (that nickname came from an infamous on-line typo and kind of stuck) was one of the original gang who first came up with the idea for what became DLV. She did miss the first one, but made the second one in 1998 and has been a regular ever since, as well as an active volunteer.
When Densie married, her husband, Tony, also became a regular at DLV.
Tony, I know I speak for the whole gang here when I say that we would love to see you at DLV! I know that Densie would have wanted it that way. I'm sure you know that you will be among friends!
Again, my sincere condolences go out to Tony, the family, and the countless friends she had within our community and the community at large.
