Has anyone gone to the swingers clubs (Red Rooster, etc.) in the
commercial center during DLV in the past? If so, what was your
experience?

IIRC, we did have somebody go by herself back in 1999 or so
and she's still on the list here so she can comment if she
likes.

It was suggested as a scheduled activity for DLV 2000, and
it resulted in some debate in the ORG list, but the conclusion
was that for various reasons it probably wasn't best to put
it on the schedule as an official activity. Here's a
cut-paste of the description of what we could expect:

+$40 is admission. No food, but they do serve bar
+mixers (Coke, 7Up, etc.) and you can BYOB for liquor.
+It is a BYOB club and you are buying a one-night membership
+for your $40, with full use of all facilities described in
+previous messages. If we put this on the list as an official
+DLV2000 evening event (although I gather that you aren't
+planning on doing so), then we should ask for a group
+discount ($20 apiece would seem fair to me, cheaper than any
+show).

Please note that the description Annie quotes is for the OLD Red
Rooster club that was located in a very large private home
waaaayyyy on the northeast side of Las Vegas. The Red Rooster
that is in the Commercial Center is an entirely different
operation. I've never been able to ascertain if there is any
connection whatsoever between the two, but I certainly don't
think so. I've been to both (the old one several times, and the
Commercial Center one in 2004, IIRC).

The original Red Rooster was run by swingers for swingers. In
other words, great fun and always crowded on Fridays and
Saturdays, when they would often schedule parties and often had
a live band on the first floor. You had to know someone who
was already going to get an invitation. The address was supposed
to be secret, but most bartenders could tell you who to call and
how to get there.

The current Red Rooster is like a massage parlor without the
massage. It was clean, had security, and had some interesting
rooms, but no live bodies. Only 3 people there at midnight on
a Friday the last time I attended. I can't say what's happened
to it since 2004. Personally, I would save my money.
