Most who have attended DLV have known or heard of Margeth, who was one
of the originals going back to 1997.

Margeth (real name Hollye Merton) has been Operations Manager for
Heritage Playthings, a company founded by the late Karen Winslow who is
also known to some DLV people.

Margeth and company are featured in today's _Gainesville_Sun_ and the
link below should be clickable.

Congratulations, Margeth! :)

Now that is cool! Margeth looks great in that picture. I hope her
business takes off! I hope she makes it to DLV!!

It's not a "rain forest", it's a jungle.

It's not a "tsunami", it's a tidal wave.

...and we speak English in the US.

Agreed! And if she makes it this year, I will gladly toast the occasion
with a glass of Galiano [sic]. :)

Yes, the fond memories of Margeth at DLV ... the cold bath at Keys, the
7-11 incident, the Del Mar ... :)

ROFL! :)

How about this, I'll watch and take pictures -- from a distance! :)

>As much as the police are watching the place now, they'll probably come
>over and ask what we're doing, and we can just shrug and say, "Games".

Some of this is very ironic. I don't know if you are aware of it, but
not too long before our longtimer was invited for a horizontal bop
marathon at the Del Mar, the body of a woman was found hidden in an air
handling unit on the property.

I think I have the article bookmarked at home. I'll post it. :)

I just took a look at the LVRJ site to see if they had anything on the
Monorail shutdown. They do not, but I did a quick search and found the
DelMar article.

http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/1998/Sep-23-Wed-1998/news/8272304.html

Although things like this are not funny, I'm actually laughing so hard I
can barely type, reading the part of how the records say the room was
rented out 3 times within 8 hours! :)

For those who don't know the story, the tale of the DelMar and how it
relates to DLV appears in our War Stories section:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/war.html

There are some other amusing tales in there too. :)

BULLETIN BULLETIN BULLETIN: A cow-orker in one of our Las Vegas offices
has just reported that the problem with the Monorail is an electrical
problem with the "third rail" and is expected to be fixed Real Soon Now.

(Yeah I know, how does a monorail have a third rail.) :)
