Activity Highlight: Golf Outing

As I look out across the snow-covered lawn it’s difficult to think about golf, at least here in Iowa. So my thoughts instead turn to golf in Las Vegas in March. We will be holding our annual DLV golf outing on Tuesday, March 24th, returning this year again to Wild Horse Golf Course. Last year was our first outing at this course and the feedback was outstanding… great course and they treated us wonderfully.

A different twist this year will be the implementing of a 4-ball Best Shot tournament instead of stroke play. Each member of the 4-some will tee off, then all 4 will hit their next shots from the best ball of the group and continue until putted out. This will allow for everyone of all levels of skill to have more fun participating while still having a competitive nature to the outing.

Prizes will be awarded to lowest 4-some score, longest drive, closest to the hole, and longest putt. Sign up will be mandatory with pre-payment of $70 submitted via Paypal in advance of DLV2015 just as in years past. The $70 cost covers green fees, cart, and lunch. Club rental is extra. There will be a different Paypal account this year. That information will be sent out shortly.

Okay golfers, how does that sound to you? Are you in favor of giving this a try? And should we eliminate the ‘grab bags’?

After you're registered for the event, you can sign up for golf at activity sign-up time which will begin about March 1.

It will be awhile before golf signup is active. However, I am accepting payment for golf now and up to a week prior to the activity (March 17). Cost of golf is the same as last year... $73 ($70 + $3 handling fee). Payment will need to be sent to my PayPal account at msbevw@hotmail.com. No payment will be taken at the golf course. It must be paid in advance.
I would love to know how many are planning on playing this year and what you think about the best-ball idea. So let's hear from you.

Does anyone play more then one round of golf? Is the course amenable if some wanted to play additional days? If so anyone interested?

Lorri, I know some of the gals played on Monday and then again later in the week, Friday possibly at Wildhorse. The course is very nice to us so you shouldn't have any problem getting on several time if desired.

LOL, it's been said that some people consider DLV to be mainly a golf outing with a few more activities thrown in!
